For some background: I ordered this pillow as an upgrade, and chose it specifically for the cervical support features and optional height adjustments. I have a lot of pain in my neck and upper trapezius, which makes getting comfortable at night very difficult. I'm in physical therapy currently to strengthen and reactivate my rotator cuff and trapezius muscles.For me, this pillow has the perfect firmness, height, and width. (I chose the Queen sized one, and I'm glad I did because now I have to share with my lazy potato cat at night. Lol) I used to toss and turn all night, moving between back and sides to stomach and back again. The first night I used this pillow, I felt immediate cervical relief and my neck and shoulders were able to relax properly. I slept so hard, I don't even remember my husband coming in to bed. I was only up once in the middle of the night, which had to do with drinking water before bed and not with the pillow, and it was super easy falling asleep again. I woke up feeling refreshed and was so happy to go through the day with way less pain than I've had in months.I told my physical therapist about it a couple days ago, and actually had another patient come over to ask for more information. I've shared the link with my PT, and he's making sure those interested in it can take a look, too. :) My sister and husband are also considering ordering for themselves, and I know they'll be very satisfied if they do.

This pillow cradles your neck and supports it. It has helped me tremendously with neck pain. It can be turned one way for side sleepers and the other way for back sleepers. It definitely helps my achy neck.

I am a 73 year old, side sleeper, 5 '11" tall, 185 Lb. with somewhat broad shoulders, tho I am not an athlete. My issue has always been getting proper support for my neck AND my head. My prior pillow, also purchased on Amazon, was the Coop Home Goods Original Loft Pillow. While it was the best pillow I had used, I rarely woke up the next morning without some neck discomfort OR shoulder pain. I am curious how prevalent shoulder pain is among side sleepers. I think it comes from the head and neck not being propped up high enough and level enough, so that extra weight is brought to bear on the shoulder supporting the body.The Famedio pillow seems to have solved that for me. I did need to contact them and ask them to send me the extra pad. In fact, I needed two pads to prop my head and neck up sufficiently. The result with their pillow, is my neck feels fine in the morning and i have no shoulder pain. Also, I fall asleep in about 30 minutes, vs. 45 minutes to an hour with my former pillow. Also, I sleep more peacefully, as my blankets aren't all messed up on the bed when i wake.I have only been using this setup for a week, but my sleep changes have been pretty consistent, night after night, so I am comfortable writing this review.One hint for people using a pad; I tried putting inside the famedio pillow case, stuffing it into the zippered underside of the pillow. However, doing this requires that a snap be unsnapped. This snap helps create the cavity for your head. With it unsnapped, I found too much of the benefit from the 3D landscape of the pillow was lost. This was not a problem however, as I took out the pad, resnapped the pillow, and simply placed the pad (actually 2 pads), directly under the pillow. The pillow and the two pads stay together well enough. Sure, I would like a more elegant solution, but this one seems to work well. Call me a happy camper that is getting his sleep now!

This pillow took some getting used to. I've only ever used traditional pillows and one contoured memory foam pillow so this one took some getting used to. After a couple of days I removed the center piece on the underside and used in this configuration for a couple days and this made the center where my head is cradled softer and my ear didn't hurt when sleeping on my side.After a two week adjustment period I can say, with confidence, this is the best pillow I've had. When I wake up my neck and shoulders don't hurt and that hadn't been the case in the last couple of years. Additionally my normal morning headaches are pretty much gone. Of course I still have the occasional sinus headache, weather related or migraine, a pillow can't cure those.I find I'm not waking up to reposition my pillow and I sleep soundly through the night.I hope this pillow holds up and that when it does finally give out I am able to buy another.Pillows are personal items and what works for me may not work for you, please keep that in mind.The pillow feels and appears to be well constructed. Yes, there's a snap button in the center however, I don't feel it in the slightest. The snap button is to hold the pillow case in place. It is situated in a hole and connects to the pillow case underside creating a nice concave spot to cradle the head.Keep in mind if you have a long neck you may have to turn the pillow around and use the side without the "fins". I experimented and found the side with the upright fins to be the prefect fit. It supports my neck properly and cradles my head.I am mostly a side sleeper and I find this pillow maintains proper neck alignment.If you purchase this pillow I hope you experience results similar to mine.Sweet dreams.
