Hakko599B Brass Soldering Iron Tip Cleaning Wire – no Water Solder Cleaner with Pot Base 599B-02

A bit light weight. I glued some magnets in the base (inside) and stood it on some lead with a steel plate on top.

Doesn't clean any better than the sponge, and sometimes leaves straggly bits of solder dangling from the iron tip. Might make sense for very high-volume use, because you won't have to empty it out as often as a sponge.

When I solder..I use this every day.

I bought this purely for the brass wool, I didn’t need the housing. Works well at keeping the soldering tip clean.

The picture indicated that it came with a pot, which it does not, it is only a refill.
