Fantastic and the only way to paint outside
This is a near replica Holbein which is now unobtainable. These palettes are wonderful. Light yet reasonably sturdy. Thumb hole so you can paint outdoors with them. The paint somehow mixes and remains on the metal much better than on plastic or ceramic palettes. I now have 5 of them in different sizes. I think the original Holbeins were sturdier but 3 times this price. So buy 3 !!! I was amazed at how much easier it is to mix paints on metal. A revelation. Marvellous

Really great value palette
Great palette i really like it , good size wells light aluminium construction, it has a wonderful clean construction...It is light but i guess that would only be a possible issue if you have ever owned a heavier brass/ copper one .... as i have , as it happens .For the money you could not possibly criticise any part of it

You shouldn't need more than this.
This is a very well made palette. Lightweight and seems to be quite sturdy. It has wells for 30 colours which should be more than enough for any water colourist. Mixing areas are fairly generous so it ticks most of the boxes for me. Only downside is, I would say, fairly expensive for what it is. Otherwise very good.

I bought 2 of these watercolour palettes at different times. One arrived to me in perfect condition and works relatively well (make sure you sand it lightly first, if you don't want your washes to bead up). The other arrived with the corner crumpled, and it won't close securely. So... I guess I got what I paid for? They're decent for a cheap palette, although I wish they had instead put a metal ring on the outside fo the case as a thumb loop, rather than a hole in the palette where water can seep out all over your hand.

Ideal for me
This isn't the most robust, leak-proof palette but for my needs it's absolutely perfect. It's made from lightweight enamelled aluminium which isn't airtight when closed, so paint does dry. But that's easily revived by spraying with water before use. When closed, it's very compact and easy to store. My palette has 20 wells which is more than enough for me but you can get others in the range which have more wells. Plenty of space for mixing colours, though if you have a need for big washes, you may need an extra mixing palette.

Large sturdy metal paint palette
I only bought this this week. I am delighted with it, I saw Artist Alan Owen singing it's praises on You Tube recently so decided to try it. I have been looking for a large metal palette for a while. The mixing areas are large however I will not use the thumb rest so that would be better for me as a further mixing area. Otherwise it is a large metal palette with 30 paint holders and two and a half mixing areas. Quite sturdy which I need as I have arthritis and often drop my palettes when moving them from one position to another.. ILarge sturdy pa

Enamelled Aluminium Palette
I have several of these aluminium palettes, they are great for watercolours from the tube and I find the white enamel is great for mixing your colours on and so easy to clean off. I find it very useful, especially with a lid to keep the paints clean or to use as a large mixing tray

A terrible disappointment.
I have had a good experience with inexpensive Asian paint boxes. They have been lightweight but of good quality and value for money. So when I spotted what seemed to be an inexpensive version of the classic Holbein palette that had received good reviews I immediately ordered it.Unfortunately when it arrived it did not snap shut as promised and the lid and base were poorly made with a noticeable gap between them,On closer inspection the white inner surface had many flaws- dimples, ridges and scratches - some of them back to the bare metal. The black exterior was dented and scratched and the thumbhole had a rough, sharp edge that I think would be dangerous to use without some modification. This was neither what was described nor what I expected and was a terrible disappointment. If you, like me, were hoping for an inexpensive version of a classic design of watercolour palette I am afraid that this is not it.
