These two things are always sitting on my counter together in case a black bear comes into the property to bother my horses. I can't say enough about these two deterrent one is a boat horn and the other is bear spray. Just make sure you learn how to remove the safety Clip so you don't panic.

I took this to Big Bend to scare off bears. I am using it now when I go on walks in case I see any wild hogs.

Recommend. Just don't spray with the wind coming back at you!

We purchased these to use on an overland trip we made to CO in Sept. We did not encounter any bears, unfortunately, but decided to try them out on the way home, since we would have no use for them in our part of TX.The horn was weak AF. It did not rupture my friends ears even though it was pointed directly in it.The bear spray was strong AF and I believe would have done its job. We sprayed it at a bunch of trash pandas that would not leave our campsite and did not see them again afterwards. The spray also lingered into my buddys tent and he could not breathe and kept coughing.I think this purchase was a success.

Didn’t actually need to use it in an emergencywhen making our trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee, however, my family member that it would be a good idea to “to try it out” when we saw them near. We did have bears around us that would come out and when this item was used it scared he bears right off! Again, we didn’t have to use it for an emergency but when used near the bears, especially near garbage, they left right away and stayed away after a few times of using it. Highly recommend!

There are bears in my neighborhood so I figured I would rather be safe than sorry i.e. mauled. As advised in the directions, I did a trial run with the bear spray using just half a second of spray to confirm that it will extend 35 in front of me, then dispersing as a mist. That means I have 4.5 seconds of spray remaining in the can. I will not know if it stops a charging bear until I use it for real. I will keep you posted. The horn is very loud and should be kept away from any ears. I would not trust a kid with it.

Thankfully I haven’t had to use the bear spray. Bear activity in the Smoky Mountains has gone bananas this year. They’re on trails where they’ve never been, and they seem to be extra brazen. This was a nice price on the combo. I really was just looking for the spray. I ran across a bear that wasn’t easily deterred a week ago though. Thankfully the air horn scared him off so I never had to use the spray. I think I’ll keep both on me from now on while hiking.

I never had to use the spray or horn, but provided the spray is effective, this seems like a good deal.
