Excellent and good quality
Sooo colourful, soft and waxy texture, you can shade easily with them, and you can blend the colours to make new colours, maybe a little expensive but they are quality I would still definitely recommend though

So pleased with Procolour
I found the previous review about lightfastness quite a devastating review. Most professional colourists would seem to agree that Luminance pencils hold the reputation of the 'Rolls Royce' of pencils particularly as to lightfastness. However they are SO expensive for the majority of colourists that are not going to exhibit their pictures. I keep my pictures in their books or in a box so they are lightproof virtually all of the time. I do show off some of my efforts but this is done with photographs (where I can also alter the size) and frame accordingly. Now for the pencils - we are all different! Some prefer soft, others hard. My favourite has always been the Faber Castell Polychromos but I decided to invest in these Derwent Procolour after watching reviews on YouTube. As a colourist addict I have many sets of soft and hard pencils and I would place the Procolour on the harder side of soft. They will sharpen to a fine point without crumbling and they layer extremely well. The pigment covers extremely well and I have had no trouble with blending with pencil blenders or liquids.Overall I am extremely pleased and do not regret my purchase in any way. The colour selection is impressive for a 72 set and I am sure that a good colourist knows about blending anyway. The sound advice for colourists is to buy a few of the expensive pencils before making the large commitment of a large set. I wish Derwent Pencils every success with their Procolour sets!

Good quality, useful addition to the sent
I got smaller sets of prismas and polys and have been adding to them open stock. I bit the bullet with the procolours and bought the 72 set as it's not a huge number of pencils. Immediately I bought them I got buyer's remorse but am now happy to have bought them. They sit between prismas and polys. They won't give you the intense creaminess of prismas but neither will you get the waxy buildup so quickly. They don't have the same brightness as polys but they do some useful muted shades. For instance spruce green is a dull, dark grey green which I don't have already. They deposit pigment well and blend well. I think they blend better than polys. Maybe not as well as prismas. I've given four stars instead of five because I'm mean like that. I can't think of a real minus really. If you want to try one out first, I think some of the more unique colours are mars violet, spruce green, racing green, distant green, kingfisher blue, plum, autumn leaf, nutmeg, grape, EDIT: I find that I don't reach for this very often, mainly for the aforementioned blues and the lovely blue-greens. The laydown is too pale.

Fantastic pencils
I am not a professional artist but spend many hours doing art and craft.I wanted a better set of coloured pencils and after reading reviews on lots of different makes decided on the Derwent Procolour, as I have used Derwent graphite pencils for many years. I wasn't disappointed, they can both put down lots of colour and blend very easily. I have had no breaking leads and they sharpen to an excellent point. They arrived on time and come in a nice sturdy tin.My only niggle would be that both the inner plastic trays are damaged at the same end. The tin is in perfect condition so I can only assume they were damaged when being packed. I wouldn't have expected this from a company like Derwent. However the pencils are excellent and deserve 5 stars.

Quality and a good range of colours.
Great new range of pencils from Derwent . Good range of colours though personally I would like more greys. However they are very versatile and sharpen to a needle point without breakage, they are not dusty and they keep that point for ages. These pencils are softer to use than Derwent Artist range but harder than the Coloursoft. They would be a good choice for anyone wanting to start out with colour pencil. You can layer them and blend easily. Also it is important when starting out with pencils that you can buy individual colours to replace the shades you use up. Because these are Derwent made in the UK and distributed throughout the world you can always find somewhere to buy spares. You can rely on the quality and that is important.

the best pencils i have tried makes your pictures great
i absolutly adore the derwent procolour set i have just received . i tried the accademy range thinking there be a step up from the kiddy pencils i had that were forever breaking. wrong i found the accdemy pencils were hard going. that put me off derwent products.i then tried the coloursoft dewent pencils as couldnt afford to keep buying fabercastell poly crhomos or prisma colours .so thought id try derwent again after watching lots of mixed reaction reviews , i decided to get the pro colour 36 set. ( thanks to the amazon refund on a set which never should up i could afford to get procolour 36 set) well they came today my partner tried them out, im lucky to get the proclours back off my partner as he loves them so much he was very impressed .i think there fantastic, and im very impressed with how they work for some reason some reveiwers think they squeek. they do not squeek.no snaping points , like the coloursoft , faber castell polymoas or the prisma colour.were very pleased with them 10 /10
