Before you worry about the color, that’s a protective film. I plan on returning this so I didn’t remove it.The kit comes with instructions and will work just fine if you have a cabinet that fits this size perfectly. However, if you need to build it up then be prepared to do some heavy customization to your cabinets.It became evident that once properly installed, the stainless was not going to cover all the wood around the microwave giving it a fully finished look. Due to the fin design, you’ll have some stainless and some cabinet visible when fully installed.I chose to go a different route.
