Highly successful gift for 5 year old
This went over very well at Christmas. Our 5 year old granddaughter loved it right away and even though this was her first RC toy, she was amazingly able to figure out the controls in about 1 min.It doesn't come with batteries for the controller so be sure and get some of those or you are likely to have a very disappointed kid. It does come with rechargeable batteries that run the wheels of the robot though not a charger. You just need a standard USB phone charger for that though and most already have a stack of those sitting around. It didn't like to run on the carpet very much (the tank tracks are just for show; it uses rubber wheels underneath to move the robot). Hardwood or other smooth floors worked much better.Overall, a big win for the grandparents on this one.

Great RC toy, good as parts, not very expandable
It worked as advertised right out of the box. It had a partial charge and worked well. Very touchy, goes full speed as soon as you let the control link up to it. Does not move in a straight line very easily, but that's okay, it moves FAST and you will run out of room quickly. What would make this better is if there was a way to program your own sounds into it via the USB cable. Also, the wheels are geared separately, so it tends to curve, and sometimes go in a curve backwards.AS PARTS it can be used to make your own robot. Face it, you can't get a working remote control setup already channeled to work for a less price that you don't have to solder. Parts come out easily, and the body is TOUGH on these little RC robots.A GOOD BUY as parts, also good for it being a neat little robot toy.

Great gift
I bought this for my 8 year old nephew for Christmas, and he loved it! The remote was super easy for him to figure out, and the robot was really cute. My 10 year old nephew loved it too. Hopefully it will hold up for many hours of fun. Was a great deal when I bought it, too!

So much fun
My little guy loves his robot. He makes it follow him everywhere he goes. Only thing is it’s a bit loud, but plus side is that you can either lower the volume and mute it completely, it just goes back to standard settings when it is turned off and on.

Scratched my kiddos itch for a more expensive robot
My 9 year keeps adding those extremely expensive robots he sees advertised to his wish list. I snagged one of these for a deal on Black Friday, thinking I’d use it as a birthday gift for a classmate—-but then decided to bring it on a trip instead! It was a hit. Sure, it doesn’t play basketball or dance..but he didn’t even notice these features were missing.PSA: you’ll need 2 AA batteries for the remote
