BIC Velocity Strong Lead Mechanical Pencil, Medium Point (0.7mm), Smooth Dark Writing, 5-Count

I was given the opportunity by BIC to try out these pencils for free. This review is my honest opinion. I was not paid for it.These mechanical pencils are the best I've ever tried!!! At first glance you would think these are really pens. They have a great thick barrel and I love the grip for extra support and comfort. Gone are those mechanical pencils that I remember as kid. Remember the boring colored one piece plastic ones that were so skinny.Thankfully I was given 2 packages to try. Once my daughter and her friends saw them they stole them for the start of school. My daughter loves these pencils. She says they feel like a pen but if you make a mistake it's ok because it's really pencil. The girls also love the fun bright colors the pencils come in. They were fighting over colors!!! So these pencils definitely have the 15 year old girls attention.As for functionality these perform above what I expected. They write so smooth and 1 click of the pencil goes very far. If you are worried about breaking the lead it's not easy. I really had to apply a strong amount of pressure for the tip to finally break. The eraser works great. It doesn't leave any residue behind and I find it thoroughly eraser the lead. As for grip these pencils are very comfortable to hold. They are definitely thicker than the old mechanical pencils from when I was a kid. They have a comfort grip at the bottom that is nice and soft.The only thing I didn't do was refill the pencil. I love that they give you extra lead but I didn't need to add any so I can't tell you if that is easy to do or not. They really are wonderful and I will be purchasing them in the future!!

LOVE these pencils. Best out if the few different kinds & brands that I have tried! With my chicken-scratch, I need to be able to erase! I love how dark & pretty my writing looks!

I received a free sample product, of BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils from the company, in exchange for my review for BzzAgent. I think these pencils are super cute, they come in a variety of colors. The lead doesn't break easily as I actually tried to put a lot of pressure when writing to see if it would snap off, and it didn't. When I write with pencils, I like them to be dark like a freshly sharpened pencil. A lot of erasers do not work so well. These erase pretty well. I guess nothing completely erases but still not too bad. These meet my expectation and then some. However, the only downside is that when I use the eraser, it pushes the lead out of the pencil. After I finished erasing I noticed about two inches of lead sticking out. It was easy to push back in, but could have broke off too. I will probably be purchasing these for my child and myself.

These pencils are a really good step up from your standard bic. They are quite a bit thicker and I've found they are much easier to hold for long periods of time.I am a college student so I am writing constantly and theese hold up well.The gummy grip piece is a nice adition which really helps with having to hold them for a long time.Since they are thicker, these can hold quite a bit more lead than a normal bic pencil and that really helps if you burn through it like I do.Most of the packs of velocity take .7mm lead which is good for most things. I have seen a new type that uses .5mm but they are a different product number I believe.

I use the Bic 7mm for all accounting and math and science problems. The most nice writing, comfortable auto pencil I have ever used.

I have used mechanical pencils for nearly 50 years and I like these more that any other I have tried. Especially for the money.They are comfortable, with good erasers and perhaps most importantly, the shield around the lead will retract as you are writing so you do not have to click out lead too far so that it breaks, as happens with most others

This isn't just your run of the mill mechanical pencil. This is the top of the line, if there were such a thing, in 'clicky' pencils. At first glance, there isn't anything special - 5 colorful pencils, one extra barrel of .7mm lead, and a barrel of 5 eraser refills. Then, you open it. The first thing you notice is the grip. It's so soft, yet very supportive. The erasers also have a clear cap, which, for the kids, is kind of tough to get off. It also doesn't prevent the lead from being 'clicked' when it's on (the cap takes it dwn a star.)I write quite a bit, and so does my (left handed) 11 year old daughter. She and I both gave these pencils a test. The lead is smooth, so much more than I've ever used before. I'm not sure if it's the eraser or the lead, but when I made a mistake, there was no proof of it, unlike some other brands! According to my daughter, "the pencil is very easy to write with and when you erase things, the eraser erases all of it very well. I would like to use these. They are very squishy and comfortable to write with." After she had a turn, my 9 year old daughter gave them a try and said "can I keep this??" Haha.
