Handy yet cheaply priced item with plenty of pitch gauges! Keep one in you toolbox!
Typically this item will lie in your toolbox unused for months on end without even being used once… That is until one day you strip a non-standard bolt, nut or stud. That’s when you will be so pleased you have this handy little set of gauges on hand.In practice, when one has a Tap and Die set on hand that contains the exact thread pitch you require then these gauges are not necessary. The problem arises when none of the Tap and Die set pieces you have on hand match the thread pitch of the stripped bolt, nut or stud. Now you have to buy a replacement bolt/nut/stud but you have no idea what the pitch is. Well that’s when this little set of gauges becomes a lifesaver!I was tempted to remove one star because it came with no instructions at all but changed my mind. They gauges are simple to use and there are also a number of videos on YT regarding using such a thread gauge. Also do look out for charts providing Thread Pitch for Standard Metric and Imperial bolts/nuts (some charts also give details such as major-, minor- and pitch-diameters, thread angle and even socket sizes). Metric, Imperial UNC/UNF, Flat or Round Crested, and so on… it can get a bit too technical for a novice and that is why a basic instruction booklet (or even better, a link to an online resource) could prove beneficial. I frankly only know just enough to get by with what I need to do. There is a good albeit incomplete article on OsterMfg website (it does not deal with Metric). To get you started, Google “Decoding Bolt Thread Sizes” and look for the WikiHow article, as well as, the OsterMfg article. That should get you started on your path… or at least, on your path to bolt and nut insanity 😋😁

delivery excellent
nothing to dislike about this product excellent value for the price and has many thread sizes to choose from. You might need to be a bit of an engineer to understand/interpret its' use--and very good eyesight! No complaints though it did the job asked of it for me!
