We purchased 2 of the "large" 29 inch ribbed planters and received 2 planters not quite identical. H Potter replied to our text within minutes, shipped a replacement and scheduled a pickup for the mismatched planter – overall great customer service with minimal effort on our part – something one should be able to expect on a premium product. The planters look great, are well made with clean welds, corners and seams. While they are certainly not the least expensive stainless steel planters available, the workmanship & especially the customer service make them a valued acquisition we hope to enjoy for years.As a very minor item, the description of the planters in the Amazon add is somewhat misleading: going to the "large" 29 inch ribbed planters actually defaults to the "small" units while the "large" ends up a product labeled as "tall" at 36 inches. In addition, some reviewers have commented that the planters are top heavy & may fall over –– well folks, this is simple physics since the planters have a relatively small footprint and taper up with a shallow planter box and a top at ~12 and a bottom at ~8 inches square). An easy remedy (which we will be using) is to place a quantity of river rock into the bottoms to weigh down the planters.

Beautiful planter. I took out an overgrown bush in the corner of the yard near the front door and replaced it with this planter. It shows very well and adds much to the appearance of the front entrance. I have already received many compliments and people who walk by the front of the house often stop and point at it and make comments. I'm not sure what they are saying, but it looks very positive.The unit was boxed well and very easy to set up. The top planter piece fits inside easily. Drainage is good. I bought planter of flowers at the local nursery and just dropped it inside the top planter section. It would be very easy to swap out for a different look or a change of seasons.The only downside I noticed about the planter is that hard-water marks show up glaringly on the planter as white spots and they are extremely difficult to remove with a simple wipe with a wet terry cloth. I don't want to rub aggressively or use any chemicals for fear of ruining the antique copper finish. Instead, I might need to re-work my sprinkling system to avoid hitting the planter and just watering that area by hand.Overall,however, I'm very pleased with the quality, craftsmanship, and look of this planter.

Purchased a few of these to upgrade the front of the house for autumn. Added mums to them, and heard so many fantastic comments by walkers in the neighborhood that I ended up purchasing 7 more! These are absolutely beautiful, easy to clean, and the drainage is AWESOME!

This thing looks awesome! The pictures here on Amazon don't do it justice. It is obviously very well made. It was packaged carefully and arrived in pristine condition. The planter itself is quite large and appropriate for a large plant. The planter has 4 drain holes. When the stand is centered in the drip pan on the floor, the pan sticks out about 1 inch on each side, which is a nice touch so you can see how much water is in it without having to lift the stand out of it. I'll post a picture once I transplant my mother in law's tongue in it.

Pricey but really pretty. I planted flowers today. I imagine in a month it will look even better as the vines trail and the blooms grow. If you want a unique piece this fits the bill. I did buy a square plastic insert for the plant. I know wet dirt and water would eventually rust the metal insert that came with the planter. Just dropped the plastic insert right into the metal one and viola! I also sprayed the planter with a semi gloss polyurethane. I do that to all my outdoor pieces as added protection. It should also prevent the spotting on the metal that another person left in their review. Overall I’m pleased. Would recommend.Update: a few months later and the pot still looks great!

I ordered two of these large copper planters for my front porch. They are sturdy, very well made and are a beautiful statement piece. The pan insert at the top has drain holes so you don't have to worry about water accumulating when you water the plant. As another buyer recommended I placed a brick in the bottom of each one without covering the screen which allows drainage. I don't know if this is necessary, but it is pretty windy where I live so I don't think it hurts to anchor it a bit.

These planters are more stunning than the photos could ever convey! Arrived quickly and were well packaged. Lightweight, but sturdy and well crafted. I filled the bases with rocks for additional security, and they have already weathered two strong thunderstorms with hail and high winds since I put them out 10 days ago. I was initially concerned about the cost, but the quality and beauty is unmatched. Neighbors are all asking where I found such uniquely beautiful planters.

Doesn't look as expensive as picture. Very light; if my cat jumps up on it falls over.
