World War II: A History from Beginning to End Paperback – October 28, 2019

I never studied history either at secondary school or university and have always been rather ignorant of World War 2. My interest was sparked by students from Tarawa in Kiribati, which was previously known as the Marshall Islands. The kids talked casually about all the rusting military equipment in the jungle. I have finally got to read of the events of WW2 in a short format in this work and have thoroughly appreciated the way it is presented.I really recommend this work to others seeking an 8ntelligent summary of this important event in our history.

This attempts a summary of the war and does a good job but trails off near the end, probably to stay in the hour. I hoped it could be a handy source to help with the order of the additional 15 books that Hourly History has already generated on the subject. I was a bit disappointed when it failed to even mention some of the battles mentioned in those books, such as the Battle of the Bulge. Getting the war into some sort of chronological order can be tough but I thought it did a good but not great with the order of things. I would recommend it for those looking for an overview.

I've never been a history buff but wanted to know how WWII came about and the roles of the US and Europe were determined. This short read is an excellent way to get a clear understanding of who, what and where the war evolved. Highly recommended!!

This is a great recap of World War II including the most important battles, decisions, and tactics. An engaging, fun read. If you are looking for a quick and precise overview, this is for you.

Amazing that so much is so thoroughly explained in such a shot work. Clear and concise. A great background for another who wants to understand WWII history.

This book gives a generally accurate and well-written summary of the salient points of World War II. It is a good introduction to that period.

Not long on details but gives a good overview of significant events in WWII. It is a fast, easy read.
