Richell60037 Paw Trax High Wall Cat Litter Box - Brown - Extra Large

I got this for my 12 year old cat, sassy. Sometimes she starts squatting, and slowly rises to a stand mid stream. Sometimes she doesn’t bother to squat to begin with. She’s kinda messy. This box is taller than she is, so it keeps everything in when she uses it. It is also much bigger than her last box; overall it’s a wonderful upgrade! Not much harder to clean than a regular one, so pretty easy. Still recommend a litter collector/catcher mat outside the box, especially if your cat likes to run or jump out like sassy does. Only critique is the little step inside the box, because she managed to pee on it and it’s a little challenging to clean cat pee out of the little holes. I took mine out to make things easier. The scooper it comes with is also incredibly small, so I’d recommend having a bigger one bought separately. Both critiques are minimal and easily fixable for the buyer to handle themself. Overall, worth more than its weight in gold, and a very good purchase!!

I'm impressed with the materials and the feel of this box, It has good weight- not too heavy or too light. The plastic is thick and every so slightly flexible, which tells me it won't crack or break if I drop it. The pink color is nice, not too bright, or too pale.One thing to know about the XL size is that it, REALLY, is. HUGE. I read the dimensions and all- but somehow it didn't connect in my mind what the size would be in reality. I got it for my two cats to have plenty of room- but it's just too big even for my big a$$ cats. I'd keep it but I can't use it in the spot I need it--if I had room I'd definitely use it. Other than that, it's a great litter box & if you need a huge one, this fits the bill!

I have 2 big beautiful over 16 lb. boys that get in the box and let fly. I've tried hooded boxes, giant boxes with giant lids and latches and still ended up with over spray that dribbled down the sides and puddled beneath the box. Love my boys - don't love that. The sides of this box are high enough to contain the most exuberant efforts of these guys. The sides also resist the stuck clumps. They slide right off, making the box easy to keep clean. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is the little platform at the exit. My cats jump over it and scatter more litter than if they just stepped out. Plus it is such a generous size. It's hard to find litter boxes big enough to give these big boys room to turn take care of business. Two thumbs up and five stars.

The size is great, the height has kept our walls and floor clean on 3 sides. The whole thing is pretty flexible which can be a plus for unsticking stuck clumps, but becomes an issue with the step. Everything about the step is bad. It falls off or collapses all the time, and the support can't be removed with the step. There's litter in the slot for the step, so it doesn't go in... And besides its poor design my cats are afraid of it (because it collapses) and just jump through the opening, and fling litter that direction. A step outside the box, or a permanent price would work better. Overall still a 4 star, I won't buy a second one but I won't retire this one early either.

Love the large size and the access door on the side. My foster fail loves to kick litter to make sure she's covering up her business. The area around her box is so much neater with this box than the other high sided ones the rescue used. She does occasionally still manage to get some out the access door, but thats rare and a catch mat solves that problem.

Had a problem with my cat missing the litter box - yuck! This is a single unit, high walls, easy to clean. He didn't have any problem adapting to it -- no more misses!

I’m a mom to 5 cats and 3 fosters and have my fair share of litter boxes over the years. I have a rather big litter box storage and it’s hard to find the just right litter box for it. Love how long this one is and the side entrance. Litter still gets out but not quite as bad. I do clean out the litter boxes every night and it does get some in the corners but not any different then any other litter box. Not really sure about the little step as it pops up every so often. But over all this has been a great litter box. Little pricey but it was worth every penny!!

Update after about a month. I decided I can’t use this litter box any longer. The shape and step make it so difficult to keep clean. I wish more boxes had sides this high but that’s the only good thing about this. I was a huge waste of money…and one of the most expensive ones I ever bought.I have a long torso high pee’er. I’ve gotten the largest litter boxes I can find but the sides are never tall enough to prevent the accidental tinkle over the edges.I love the large size of this box, the sides seem to be tall enough to prevent any possibility of my girl peeing over the edge.The little litter scoop is worthless. Just toss it.I not a huge fan the oblong shape. It’s difficult to scoops clumps on the curved edges.I HATE the step. It is pointless & impossible to clean around.If the step was mounted in a way you could still use the litter box with it removed, it would be ok. But no it is mounted on these molded bumps with posts that make it so you MUST use the step or risk your cat getting hurt. If the step wasn’t there I’d buy 2 more boxes. To replace all my current boxes.I can live with the oblong shape, but that step is just a huge design flaw . I’d like to know how this got through the testing phase. I will not purchase another one of these because of the step.
