Great product.
Perfect addition to monitor the tank level in your Berkey. No more lifting the top tank to look inside so you don’t overfill.

Sightglass
Very helpful in tracking current water level and to avoid overfilling the filtering tank. Functions most reliably.

Takes a bit of patience
We exchanged the first spigot due to leaking. Received the second and it also leaked. I decided to try to reinstall when I noticed that tightening the base moved the rubber seal. I held the seal while tightening, making sure it didn’t move. Once secure I tightened more. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now with no leaks. Works great!

Only lasted 5 months. Was hoping for better quality or support
Worked great , but broke after 5 months. No kids using it, and surprised the valve broke so quickly. Loved the look and use of it when it did work . But if it only lasts 6 months, ill get an alternative that is easier to replace / repair than this one for the price point. Reached out for support, and still waiting to hear back . Ill update this if seller responds.

Best choice
If you are willing to spend the money on a high quality water Filtration system, don't get cheap on the accessories for it. Keep the whole system made by Berkey.I bought a few other off brand valves with the sight glass over the years and even recently. Most of them would always have a slight leak. The last one I bought was half the price of the Berkey and was junk. I couldn't get it to stop leaking. But it only came with one silicone washer without any steel washer. It was garbage. This Berkey valve with the sight glass also offers a gray silicone check ball in a separate bag. If you are older like I am, I highly recommend using it.Unlike other valves with the sight glass models from other makers, this unit comes with a cone shaped steel washer and a cone shaped silicone washer for both sides of the water holding tank. This is very important and the best way to stop any leaking of water. This unit also has a nut that is tightened by hand. This will allow you to tighten the nut properly, without distorting the silicone washer. That is awesome.I highly recommend this item. If you buy it, you will only cry once. If you buy a cheaper model and then have to buy this to solve your problem of leaking, then you will cry twice.

A "must have"
Works beautifully - added on to the system so you can see the water level and know when to refill without taking the top tank off. Makes the whole system very convenient. It says you don't have to add the ball in but it makes it easier to see if you do (and it's cute:). Worth every penny.

A must-have upgrade
Honestly I don't know why this isn't standard equipment on the Berkey. With a gravity-fed water tank, especially if you have it above a wooden floor, not knowing what the water level is in the bottom tank can lead to a massive overflow. The glass water view spigot shows us exactly how much water is in the bottom tank so we can decide when we need to draw off water and when it needs refilling. In practice, we put a couple clean glass jars in the top tank so we can put 2 gallons in at a time and fill it almost to the brim. This ensures we're using the entirety of the black filters for at least part of the filter cycle every time we fill it up. We immediately draw 2 gallons of filtered water from the bottom tank as soon as the gallons used to fill the top are empty and available for refill.
