Substantially built. Not cheaply made.
Although we struggled to find the right place for it due to the bath being very plasticy. In the end it clamped over the handle quite solidly. Giving good support so that my father in law can step in whilst holding on.

You need to reinforce your plastic bath. This is how I did it.
This is a very strong and heavy, a good quality product. But like other reviews said, British baths tend to be have soft plastic sides. So you have three choices: buy a different bath, use suction handles, or reinforce the bath. A new bath is expensive. Sunction handles come off if you slip and fall. So you have to reinforce the bath. This is how I did it. I am not a DIY expert! If I can do it, anyone can.1. Buy 2 strong steel rods, and 3 or 4 LARGE jubilee clips. Amazon should have them, so will your local hardware store. You also need some old bits of wood and duct tape to fill the gap.2. Pull the side off the bath. Soft plastic sides are bendy. Careful not to crack it, but if you do it usually isn't too obvious.3. Find the legs of the bath. These are strong. Use the jubilee clips to fix the rods between the two legs. This is a bit tricky: it might help to have someone else to hold the clips in place as you screw. But you can do it on your own if you have to. I did. Expect to swear a bit.4. Tape the bits of wood around the metal so that the inside of the bath is now solid.5. Replace the side of the bath and screw on the grab rail. Push it down as you screw it in, othersie it will tend to slide upwards (because the inside of the bath slopes).6. If you can't screw the grab rail far enough in, unscrew it. Then add some more wood on the outside of the bath. You won't have to screw as far, so can srew it very tight. Needs a strong hand, or a big pair of pliars to get a better grip. The rail should be be good and strong is somebody is holding onto it and slips. This is not an ideal solution, as if they do slip, it will move a little, but it will be a lot stonger than a suction cup! Hope this helps.

LIFE CHANGING.
It is wonderful at 79 I have been struggling to get out of the bath. But not anymore thank you so much I can now relax in my bubbles and not worry that I won't be able to get out. So anyone considering buying one DO it will change your life. So again Thank You from a very happy Bunny. Aly Schwind. x x x x

This product is dangerous
Despite fitting and measuring correctly etc the rail will not hold firmly enough to the side of the bath.It loosens and has caused a fall ….disabled people need a more secure and safe product

Read the instructions carefully!
If your bath is rounded like mine, do not use this product. I set it up for my elderly father, and it gave way. Luckily he wasn't injured, just got a bit of a fright. In fairness, the product instructions did state not to use on rounded bath, but when I installed it, it seemed fine. Do NOT purchase this product unless your bath, etc. conforms to the instructions. Could potentially cause injury if not used correctly!
