Installed in about 20 minutes
I just finished replacing the battery in my Model A1238, 160 Gb gen 6 Ipod with this kit. It was a success and I am currently listening to it. My recommendations to anyone considering this kit:1. If you haven't done this before, and as others have advised, watch multiple Youtube videos. They give a good sense of some critical items to keep in mind.2. Be careful of the small ribbon cables. They are very fragile and easily torn. Take note that on my model, the cable going to the on/off switch runs directly under the battery and could be damaged as you pry out the old battery.3. Get some metal "spudgers" to pry open the case. I found that the plastic ones are not sturdy enough.4. Have patience and go slowly when opening the case. The clips are surprisingly strong and resistant.5. If your fingers are like mine, you will need tweezers for reassembling the cables correctly.6. I can't advise on how long the new battery will last, as I just started using it. My guess is that it will last several years.

Easy to install, but I purchased another tool kit that made the job easy.
Yesterday I was reading reviews for replacement batteries for my 6th gen iPod and the biggest complaint that I read over and over again was that the tools that came with the battery were horrible. Many of the reviews said nothing about the battery that they bought, but they sure complained about the cheap tools so I decided that I better buy a better tool set at the same time I bought this battery that came with a tool kit and I am so happy that I did.Total time to replace this battery, including re-watching a Video before starting the project was about 1 hour including cleanup and putting iPod on the charger.Do your self a big favor, spend a few extra dollars and buy a Kaisi Professional Electronics Opening Pry Tool Repair Kit with Metal Spudger kit at the same time. The kit made the job so easy that I am now back online to buy another battery for another iPod and I'm sure that the next battery change will be even faster.Sorry, I can't say anything about the battery other than it fit perfectly, immediately powered up the iPod and I am confident that in a few hours my iPod will once again be working.

Ready to use, not very complicated
This was a lot more simple than I expected. Getting the case apart is the toughest part and the tools sent with the battery didn't necessarily hold up to well. But the battery is a perfect fit, (it came with adhesive on it) and my iPod started up right away once installed. It has been running well since the battery swap. One thing to be carefull of when changing the battery is, when removing the old battery, be aware that there is a thin ribbon wire under the battery. I wasn't aware of this and damaged that wire (though it works fine so I must have not severed the copper strands). Take your time removing the battery, only pry at the front and rock the battery from side to side to loosen the old adhesive. Works great and recommend it.

The tools were extremely brittle, and you will break your working iPod in the process
Each plastic tool broke or discintegrated while trying to use, Upon finally getting all the broken plastic pieces out of my functioning and semi charging iPod the battery provided doesn't quiet fit, and after install I received a blinking screen, no audio, and of course a warped case from the tools breaking off on the perimeter of the iPod. Pretty livid, since I've had a functional working just not charging iPod since 2005 when I received this one as a gift. Now its completely busted and warped so I am no longer a iPod owner. Don't waste your time with this product sending it back and really pissed off, should of just left it alone.

Exactly What I Needed
I've had a classic IPod since around 2009 area and have had to replace the battery twice since then. This being the second time and got exactly what I needed. Battery was almost fully charged upon arrival so that was a plus! I used my own tools so I can't give my thoughts on those.

Bring your own tools
The cheap plastic tools does not do the job for replacing the battery from an iPod classic. They are very brittle and break easily. You're better off using your own tools.Battery works fine. The adhesive is a nice bonus.

Nice But Test Fit
Nice product. Fit my iPod and it’s back up and running. I didn’t use the tools as I have plenty from previous repairs so I can’t review the tools.Only advice is to test fit the battery before you pull off the adhesive backing. The plastic wrap may need to be molded a little to fit in the space. Much easier to do when it’s not sticking to everything. No problem and I’d recommend this. I hade a 5th gen iPod.
