I can always count on Duncan Hines Cake Mixes
I've tried all kinds of cake recipes from homemade recipes from a 1947 Better Homes and Garden cookbook; to with pudding, without pudding from the Pillsbury mixes; along with Betty Crocker cake mix recipes from the 1967 cookbooks or from the store shelves....but for a wedding cake, in my opinion, none have the consistent flavor, texture, and depth of flavor as do these three lovely spring-colored and fruit-flavored cake mixes by Duncan Hines. I have used them for more than 50+ years of baking, and they have never let me down once! When going to college in 1974-'75, a roommate introduced me to the easiest fruit-flavored cookie in the world! Any flavor of Duncan Hines cake mixes - my favorite is orange - or spice, chocolate (just add nuts/small chocolate chips), among others - can be combined with a scant 1/2 cup of oil, 2 eggs, and stirred with a spoon, then scooped out with the larger sized melon ball utensil or rounded teaspoon; placed as a rolled ball set 2" apart on the cookie sheet, and baked at 350 degrees for between 8-10 minutes (my oven runs hotter - I take them out at 8 min.), and watch for them to flatten and "crinkle" a little bit they're ready to remove from oven to cool. You'll know when they're ready to remove from the cookie sheet by the time they have completely crinkled! So - do enjoy as these three fruit flavored mixes - and others - just as they are or with a scoop of your favorite ice cream between them! Now, if they'd only bring back the Cherry Chip and the Cherry Fudge mixes, I'd be ordering those as well! Enjoy your cakes, cookies, and cupcakes you can make and beautify using Duncan Hines mixes!

Nice fruity trio
I’m just going to say I had some children over, and I bought a big box of gummy bears, I dislike gummy bears, but the kids of course didn’t eat them all, so I used these cakes to put the gummy bears in. They turned out so great. If you’re planning to do the same, you’ll wanna cover your 13x9 with foil, grease the foil, then stick parchment paper in the bottom and half way up the sides, the grease will help the paper to stick like glue, the reason for all this, is because your gummy bears will sink, and you don’t want them to stick, also baking will take a little bit longer, so of course have your toothpicks on hand to check the middle of the cake, make sure it’s clean.

Delicious but pricey
I make a Harvey Wallbanger cake and need an orange cake mix, but that is very hard to find in stores. So I found this trio of Duncan Hines mixes which fills the bill (but empties my wallet!). Why is fruit flavored cake mix such an expensive commodity? They do taste good though...

BLAND
The lemon and orange were bland so I added orange juice to the orange and lemon zest to the lemon. Meh.
