Bovine gelatine capsules?!
I'm really disappointed these are made with bovine gelatine capsules and it wasn't stressed enough in the description for the product.Bovine usually refers to cow through my research. The cow is a holy animal in Hinduism and thought of very highly. As a Hindu I don't feel comfortable eating something derived from a cow (very different to consuming cow milk). The description and the first half of the photos in the listing go into the benefits, being free from so many things, being produced in the UK (a fantastic thing!). I only realised the bovine gelatine when looking at the bottle and I initially got these based on the benefits and the "free from" graphic. I would have appreciated more focus on ingredients used that may conflict with people's dietary/religious requirements. This is so important and where there are so many veggie capsules available on the market, I'm surprised this kind of capsule is being used. I'm so upset about this.

Bees are so useful and helpful!
Contains Bovine gelatine so not vegan/vegetarian.These do have quite a smell, especially with the quantity within the bottle. Not though as smelly as a valerian root supplement. The capsules seem to be standard size and are quite straightforward to swallow. I have been taking one capsule per day but the recommendation is 1 to 4 capsules per day.It is too early to comment (and my be rather difficult to do so anyway) as to how helpful and useful the product actually is to my health and wellbeing. It is a reasonably priced product if the maximum amount of 4 capsules per day is taken and very cheap if only 1 capsule per day is required or taken. The only negative I can think of is that a vegetarian capsule shell was not used. Many more sales of the product would be likely if the capsule shell was vegetarian.

Boosts immune system during cold and flu season
It's currently late October, cold and flu season are in full swing. My immune system hasn't quite recovered since the end of the pandemic. I take 1-2 capsules, on days where I experience fatigue, stress or a runny nose, as this is when I'm most prone to catching a cold. You can take up to 4 a day but honestly 1-2 is more than enough for me, each capsule is 1000mg.Cost per capsule: Currently retails at £14.39 at the time of this review for 120 caps1 a day: £0.12 Lasting appx 120 days/ 3 months2 a day: £0.24 Lasting appx 60 days / 6 weeks3 a day: £0.36 Lasting appx 40 days / 5 weeks4 a day: £0.48 Lasting appx 30 days / 4 weeksA quick google search pulls up testimonials and benefits on bee propolis. It's an herbal supplement that's naturally anti-viral and great for flu season. Apparently it comes from the inside of bee hives and is the gunk that keeps the hive clean. If you have a bee allergy you may want to sit this one out. I'm not sure of the sugar intake, if you are diabetic or insulin sensitive please do your own research.I'm not a fan of the smell of the bottle but it far superior to the liquid alternative which is nasty. This combined with NAC, Quercetin, vitamin D has done wonders for not just my immune system but relieved a lot inflammation in my joints.I hope my experience has helped you make a more informed purchase decision based on your specific wants and needs.

No independent research that supports any claims surrounding the potential benefits of this product
Not suitable for vegans due to the bovine gelatin capsule.Perhaps the most important thing I found in my research into Bee Propolis was that neither the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) nor the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has approved any health claim for flavonoids or approved any flavonoids as prescription drugs. The U.S. FDA has warned numerous dietary supplement companies about illegal advertising and misleading health claims. So beware. The benefits as claimed by the manufacturers of Bee Propolis are totally unsubstantiated, and as is so often the case with food supplements, I am left to summarise things by saying (in response to the seller's claims) "Well, they would say that, wouldn't they?"They're made in the UK, apparently, by a company called SimplySupplements. I had a look on Companies House for information about the firm, but the only entries show that there have been two companies called SimplySupplements and both were dissolved in 2017. It's not clear if there's a connection between those company closures and this Bee Propolis product. On the side of the bottle it also states that this product is distributed by Pinnacle Health Nutrition International, based in Bilbao, Spain. I'm inclined to believe that these capsules are actually made there - in Spain - and Pinnacle Health make lots of different versions for different individuals who ask Pinnacle to give the product a brand name - in this case SimplySupplements.SimplySupplements, while not appearing on Companies House as an actively trading company, shows an address on the bottle of PO Box 1330, Peterborough PE2 2PW. Meanwhile, there is a Pinnacle Health Nutrition Limited in the UK, which by an incredible coincidence is located in Peterborough - specifically Unit 5 Broadway Station Bridge, Yaxley, Peterborough, England, PE7 3EL. It was set up in 2017 by Mr Che Yung Li.There's a Charge code 1055 7314 0001 against Pinnacle Health Nutrition Limited, dated and delivered 12 August 2022 and is still outstanding. Persons entitled is named as HSBC UK Bank PLC, which suggests (could be wrong here) that Mr Che Yung Li is in arrears with respect to his mortgage payments to HSBC.There is a legal mortgage over the freehold property known as land on the west side of Broadway, Station Bridge, Yaxley, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. HM Land Registry title number CB372465. Contains a negative pledge. Chargor acting as a bare trustee for the property. It's not exactly a scam, but it's a thousand miles from transparency.Propolis comes under the generic category of 'traditional medicines'. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines traditional medicine as "the sum total of the knowledge, skills, and practices based on the theories, beliefs, and experiences indigenous to different cultures, whether explicable or not, used in the maintenance of health as well as in the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental illness". Traditional medicine is often contrasted with scientific medicine.Propolis has been used in traditional medicine, with insufficient evidence to rate its effectiveness in the treatment of any illnesses. In spite of all this, I've been taking these every day for about two weeks and, much as expected, I haven't noticed the slightest difference or benefit.Bee Propolis, in common with the overwhelming majority of all food supplements, is something you have to believe in, otherwise it's pointless. It's kind of like a religion. You believe, so it's good. But there is absolutely no evidence from independent sources to prove it. You might as well just drink the water on its own, and save yourself 14 quid.So there you go. You now know more about Bee Propolis than you did five minutes ago, I think it's fair to say. If you believe in the religion, buy this product. If you're a food supplement agnostic, proceed with caution.

A good way to source propolis
Good pills which are fairly easy to swallow. As it can be quite hard to get hold of propolis unless you know a beekeeper this is a good alternative. For when you want a regular supply this is a good choice although it will not work to sooth a sore throat the same way that raw propolis will.Good price for a regular dosage and, whilst the capsules are not exactly small they can still be swallowed fairly easily.
