Perfect
We replaced a 20 year old 5 Ton with a new high efficiency Carrier 5 Ton. Located on the outside wall of our master bedroom, the compressor sound wave was unbearable. Our contractor offered no solution.Happy to find the Brinmar solution on Amazon and ordered the large SBLH. Followed the instructions, cut a slit to accommodate the piping and duct taped the blanket to keep moisture out. Climbed into the unit, yes, these high efficiency units are massive but empty inside, positioned the 2 pieces per instructions and secured using the velcro straps. Easier than expected and eliminated the annoying sound wave. Thanks!

Works GREAT once you get it!
The first order that we placed ended up going somewhere in another state. The seller refunded the money very quickly, but had us place another order rather than sending one automatically in its place. Couldn’t be happier with the product. It cut the sound by 10 decibels. We can now sit out on our screened porch and not yell at each other.

Bottom line, it certainly reduces the compressor sound, but don't expect miracles
The media could not be loaded. Installed in just 15 minutes. The AC unit seemed quieter (but not by any means silent), but it's difficult to compare before and after noise levels by memory. So before installing the blanket, I took a 10 second video with my phone of the running AC (from 6 feet away), and did the same after installing the blanket. Watching/listening to the before and after videos, there is no question that the compressor is much quieter. I also used a free IOS app DecibelMeter to measure the sound - before was 80db, after 74db, pretty much in line with the 5db minimum the manufacturer advertises. (I can't vouch for the accuracy of DecibelMeter, but the important thing to note is the decrease of 6db) My guess is that many of the reviews that indicate "it didn't work" are because it's difficult to remember the before volume was.

Two Stars
No noticeable difference in the sound level.

Installation is easy enough, though it's tough to get a 6'2" body to bend low enough inside an air conditioning unit to wrap and tape it up snugly. Had to do some cutting to get the pieces around piping and tape that with duct tape. End result was a much less noise coming from the compressor which is typically amplified being that the location is in close quarters between home and neighbor's house. Am very satisfied with the noise reduction as about all that can be heard now is the sound of the fan. This AC is a 12 year old unit that that's a cheaper model which tends to be somewhat noisy when new anyway. So, got what I hoped for and would highly recommend for anyone wanting to reduce the noise from an AC compressor.PS: Just keep in mind how much noise comes from the fan, which will not be affected by adding this compressor blanket.

Delivers on all its promises!
The noise reduction is amazing! I only wish I had bought this sooner. I was concerned with putting a wrap on a compressor during our 114 degree (sometimes hotter) Las Vegas summers, but was pleased to find that it had no effect on the air conditioner’s performance. Installation was a breeze and could not have been easier. I would recommend this without any hesitation.

Not working as expected
Compressor (not fan) got loud noise. Came across this produce when searching for solutions. Bought it based on the positive reviews. However, after putting it on and seal with duct tape carefully, the noise reduction is barely noticeable. Still loud. Note the fan was taken off, and the noise level comparison is only for the compressor itself. Also the compressor seems to be overheated after putting it on and running for 15minutes. I have been always suspicious on the claim that the sound blanket won't affect the compressor because the compressor was cooled by the freezer. If that is the case, why we need the fan? Anyway, this is only my personal experience and just a warning for anyone who is interested in this. Because after you put it on the compressor, cut and tape, there is very unlikely that you can return it.

Noticeable noise reduction but hard to install
The media could not be loaded. I have Goodman with pipes / wires coming out of every direction. And it’s a big boy, can’t even reach the compressors. Had to cut the sound blanket in multiple places, lots of duck tape and climb into the cooling unit to get the blanket installed. But it worth the effort. Noise level is noticeably reduced, especially a high-pitched vibration sound that bugged the hell out of me. Now all I hear is the fan. 4 star in hope the product maker can come up with a better design.
