Worth the price
Have heard good things about this camera set up and it including the app being nice. We primarily got it since it has the handheld monitor so we don't have to be glued to our phones while she's asleep, we can just prop the monitor up and check on her. The night vision is about that of my Ring cameras. A little blurry (though could be from my wifi) but still clear enough to see what she's doing. Day time picture quality is crystal clear! We had it set up and connected to the portable monitor and to the app within about 30 minutes so that was nice. If we take it to her grandmas etc itll be even easier to set up as things will be programmed already- so I'd say would take less than 5 minutes then. Very glad we went with this one over the ones that are app only or monitor only, worth the extra $ to get both in 1 without having to get 2 different cameras/ systems

It’s Awesome!
Everything about this baby monitor is awesome! The quality of this large screen in both day and night vision is brilliant. I can alwaysw see what I have to see. The night vision, which is a feature I needed the most, is clear and automatically switches over when it gets darker in the room so no matter what time of the day it is I can monitor my baby without worry. Something that I didn’t know was that I needed a baby tracker(We wrote on paper to keep track before). This is a game changer. The baby tracker in the ChillaxCare app works like a personal journal for my child. I can keep track of everything from eating to sleeping and diaper changing and even note things like play dates and doctor appointments. So my husband and my parents can be on the same page of what to do with her next. I also like to keep track of the days my toddler goes to the park to make sure she is getting enough outdoor time. The best part about this is that they each have their own special account and I can filter and find what I’m looking for in a flash. I’m not very tech savvy, and I have no problems using the baby tracker and master the baby monitor.

An Honest Review: Amazing Camera. Disappointing Parent Unit. Comparing the Giraffe Pro & Daily Baby.
Actual rating is 3.5 stars. I'm rounding to 4 stars since 3.5 is not actually an option, and I want this company to succeed. This hardware has SO much potential. In my opinion, the Giraffe Pro v2 (more info below) is one of the BEST cameras on the market. Not just the baby monitor market, but the entire surveillance camera market! It's just so disappointing that they would make such as amazing camera with such a crappy parent unit.I purchased both the Giraffe Pro and the Daily Baby monitors in order to compare them. I was finding conflicting information on Amazon, YouTube, and the Chillax website about the specifications of these cameras and parent units. I wanted to see for myself what the specs actually are. For example, on the Chillax website for the Daily Baby, it says the parent unit is 720p. On a YouTube video, it says the parent unit is 1080p. And on this product page in the Q&A section, a Chillax representative states that the parent unit is actually 480x272. Unfortunately, the 480x272 is the correct answer. Why does the company list different info on their product page and official YouTube videos? Good question! It is true that the Giraffe Pro is a 1080p camera. And the Daily Baby is a 720p camera. The image quality on the iOS and Android apps is representative of this. They look pretty good. It's just so disappointing and sad to me that the parent units don't take advantage of this resolution. What excuse does Chillax have in 2022-2023 of producing a parent unit with such low resolution?? Why make such an amazing HD camera and then ruin it with 1990s picture quality?? It's mind boggling! There's no excuse for this. Other competitors have HD parent units. For example, Leap Frog and Motorola. And many more. There's no reason that customers should have to use the app to get HD quality. There's no reason the parent units couldn't me made in HD. It's simply a ridiculous, poor decision. I assume its to cut costs. If Chillax just went all out on this with an HD parent unit, they'd be in competition to be the #1 product on the market. This was a huge mistake. And the funny thing is, the parent monitor is also USB-C! They went with the modern connection. Almost no other competitors have this. They modernized the camera and parent units in every possible way! But then decided on a 480x272 resolution. What on earth were they thinking??? (As a side note, as you can see in my pictures, the parent units that come with the Giraffe and Daily Baby are actually different model numbers. However they are 99.9% the same as far as I can tell, with no apparent quality differences.)Out of the actual cameras, I do prefer the Giraffe Pro to the Daily Baby. As I stated before, the Giraffe Pro is 1080p, and the Daily Baby is 720p. The cool thing with both of these is the connection style. The Giraffe Pro has a direct USB-A connection. You can connect it to ANYTHING and it just works! Plug it into your computer. Plug it into a USB brick. Plug it into a USB wall outlet. Or plug it into a power bank. All it needs is 1 amp. And it just works! Its so easy to use and portable. And the clip makes it even better. Or, if you see my picture, you can add your own clip to a power bank and make it truly portable. The power bank pictured was a 26800mah power bank. It gave me about 40 hours of power. If you do the math, that's about 5 nights of power (8 hours each) without needing any plug at all. Purchase two power banks and just swap them, and you'll never even need a power cord for this unit. The Daily Baby is USB-C, which is awesome. Most of the competitors haven't caught up to this yet. It's a great camera too, but it just doesn't have the flexibility of the Giraffe Pro (no pun intended). Now, unfortunately I have to call Chillax out again. I'm going to call them out on a problem that I think their company knows about, but they are selling bad units anyway. The standard Giraffe Pro with parent unit pack includes an older version of the camera. I'm going to call this v1. However, if you order the camera by itself, it seems like you get a newer version of the camera. I'm going to call this v2. You can tell from my pictures what the differences are. The v1 camera is on the left. The v2 is on the right. The actual model numbers on the tags are the same. And even the hardware ID in the app. But you can tell just by looking that they are actually different. Here's what happened and my theory on why they changed it. I ordered the Giraffe Pro and Daily Baby standard packs. One camera and one parent unit. When comparing the two monitors, I noticed that on the Giraffe Pro parent unit, I was getting a lot of static and high pitched humming style noise, even in a completely silent room. It was extremely annoying, and basically unusable. On the Daily Baby parent unit, there was no static whatsoever. It was perfect. So, to troubleshoot this, I swapped the units and re-paired them to the other camera. Now, on other parent unit, there was stating and noise, and the Daily Baby unit had nothing. This told me 100% that the noise was coming from the camera itself and not the parent unit. I also tried the app with the Giraffe Pro and had unwanted noise as well. It was so bad on parent unit though that you would not be able to sleep with it next to you. I was so sad as I loved this camera, but this was a deal breaker. However, I had a theory. I thought maybe my unit was bad. The hissing and static sounded like a a bad microphone, or maybe the mic was picking up its own camera operating noise. Or maybe, Chillax was aware of this issue, and they had stared selling camera units alone, without the parent unit included. Since they started selling the camera unit alone recently, it standard to reason that this unit may be an upgraded, newer version. I put my theory to the test and ordered a new camera to see if this would fix the issue. And surprise, surprise! I opened the package and discovered that the camera had been updated. Look at my pictures. It looks like Chillax had now covered or relocated the ventilation holes that were on the original v1 camera. You can see how the v1 and v2 cameras look different in my pictures. So, I plugged the new v2 camera in, and surprise, surprise! No static or hissing at all. The issue was 100% fixed. I was extremely happy because now I knew that I had a working unit that I could keep. However, I also was disappointed in Chillax. Because this proves to me that they know the v1 unit is defective, and they are selling it anyway. I haven't had any official word from the company, but you can draw your own conclusions. If I was Chillax, I would immediately recall all v1 units, and start selling v2 units with the parent unit package. I'm guessing they don't want to take the financial loss. Hopefully eventually the old inventory will sell out and only new orders will ship with v2. If you are a potential customer, I would suggest ordering both the combo package, and then also order a single camera. Then test for yourself, and return the one that is causing static. After all of this, my conclusion is that I am keeping the v2 Giraffe Pro, and just dealing with the crappy parent unit. I have high hopes that Chillax will release an updated v2 version of the parent unit sometime in 2023 or 2024. If they do this, this review would instantly be updated to 4.5-5 stars. To make this unit absolutely 5 stars? Enable RTSP steams on the camera. I contacted the reps through Q&A to see if I could access RTSP with these cameras. They say no, for security. The real reason for this is usually because they want to lock them down so you are forced to subscribe to their own subscription service so they can make more money. And Chillax does offer this. The Chillax iOS and Android apps are alright. But I don't like being locked into one companies apps. If you are an advanced user, such as myself, you'd love for the cameras to have RTSP access so you can use them with any NVR or surveillance app of your choice. I believe Chillax should add this, and they let the user decide if they want to enable it or not. If you are worried about security, leave it disabled. It's that simple. My final conclusion is that Chillax has SO much potential. I'll admit, I don't like the name. It's not professional. Chillax? It doesn't inspire professionalism. But, after reviewing many baby monitors, and regular IP cameras, I have to admit... the Giraffe Pro is one of the coolest products on the market. The flexibility of the USB, the 1080p resolution, the Wifi on/off switch. It's so cool! This camera should be on the market for surveillance use as well. It has SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!! Why limit it to baby monitors? When your baby grows up, this camera could be used for so much more. I call on Chillax to think outside the box. Make this camera usable for everybody! Add RTSP. Upgrade to an HD parent unit. Let customers go wild with this thing. Maybe someone more advanced than me can make custom firmware so we can really start to see what this thing can do.I'm sticking with the Giraffe Pro for my baby monitor. Out of all the other units from all the other companies, I think this one offers the best combination of features and flexibility. Sure, the parent unit sucks, but its good enough to see your baby. The audio is good enough, and you'll hear your baby crying just fine. Other companies have better parent units, but they don't have the modern USB-C connections, or they don't have the cool USB-A arm of the Giraffe Pro. This one just has the portability that they other ones don't offer. It's 3.5 stars. Give it a HD parent unit and it'll be 4.5 stars. Give it RTSP, and it'll be 5 stars. Please Chillax, you have the best camera on the market. Charge $10-$20 more, give us an amazing parent unit, and give us RTSP and start really promoting this thing as the beast it could be.

Save yourself the frustration and go with something else
Was really wanting to like this monitor but after using it for over a week I can say there are many flaws with it.. it freezes often and it also is like 5-10 seconds behind, it has poor picture quality- day time is very grainy and night vision is too dark. Also the app always says the camera is offline even though it’s on and connected. The biggest problem I have been having is that the monitor will disconnect from the camera half of the time which is very frustrating when you’re trying to get things done and you hear the baby crying from their room and then notice the monitor isn’t connected to the camera anymore!!! Save your money and go with something else!

Well made with software features
I've had this baby monitor for a few weeks. Its video quality in the parent unit is good, but not the best. It does not have remote pan and tilt too. But I do love the fact that I can charge the baby monitor wherever I am with a power bank. This will be very useful when we go to our cabin this summer. And I do not have to worry about the parent unit running out of battery. The USB C plug is the same as my phone. The APP is so easy, I just have to click once and the live feed appears quick. It also has free cloud recording which surprised me, I can go back a full 24 hours. I like to save the special moments in my phone before they get deleted.Another thing that I do enjoy is the auto dimming light, it will not distract my baby at night. Also being able to share camera and diary events with family members and the babysitter make my life easier but there are things that need to be improved and the features will take me a while to learn. I can't say just yet what has to be improved but I will fiddle fadle with it a bit to see what works for me.
