Hella007794301 Cover with Weatherproof Mini ISO Relay

This is a very fine relay, well made and high quality. I bought it to use for a car electrical project, where I needed it to work reliably without any worries. Most of the automotive relays you see here are cheap no-name relays with no specs, and frankly, I wouldn't trust them to work reliably for an important purpose.The Hella relay has a very complete spec sheet that you can find on the internet, if you search for Hella plus the part number. The coil resistance is spec'ed at 85 ohms, I measured 86 ohms for my relay. The pull-in voltage is spec'ed at less than or equal to 8.0 volts, I measured 7.65 volts. The drop-out voltage is spec'ed at greater than or equal to 1.0 volt, I measured 2.8 volts. The other specs are impressive and believable.The relay is slightly on the large size, so you will need a decent amount of room to mount it, especially if you use the very nice Hella wiring harness that I also purchased and have reviewed (Hella part number H84709001). With the Hella harness, I can believe that the connection is "weatherproof" as specified, but only if you mount it right-side up. If upside-down, water might still leak into the connection somehow.The Hella relay is more expensive than the cheapo generic relays, but you certainly get what you pay for in this case. The relay installed and worked just fine for my purpose, and I was very satisfied.

Replaced the damaged one in my vehicle. Worked as it should. No complaints.

I purchased the relay in hopes that it would match the relay wiring kit ($32+ add-on) that came with my SPAL fan. The dimensions were spot-on and even the snap-tight connector and weather shroud were correct for my application.The price was right too at only ~$6 it makes it feasible to replace the relay vs buying another relay wiring kit, just for the relay. Local auto parts stores did not have weatherproof relays so I was very pleased to find on-line.My only gripe, HELLA is a German based company and I expected to the relay to be made in Germany and not China. Time will tell if the China made product holds up.

I’ve over amped these but never had one fail from water ingress. Good product for those places that get a bit moist.

Installed this relay paired with the H84709001 on my motorcycle and it's performed wonderfully.Well made and really does give me confidence that it is weatherproof and will last a long time.If you don't need the weatherproof option save some $ and go for the cheaper Hella version, but if you do need waterproof this is the one and pair it with part# H84709001 for a perfect match, as you don't want to use this one on it's own.

This was part of an electrical control circuit for an electric fuel pump install in my boat. worked as designed with the appropriate harness.

I bought this to fix the power trim on my outboard boat motor. It would go up but it would not go down. I bought 2 relays and I'm glad I did because after replacing the one for the down side it still didn't work. So I replaced the other relay as well and it works perfect. So I would suggest replacing them in pairs for this application.

Works good as it is supposed to.I had some trouble during my horn installation because I didn't get the matching relay connector. The numbers didn't match up so it must have been for a different purpose. I successfuly installed by using the numbers on this relay and not the relay connector. My mistake. But I got it to work and haven't had any problems since.Before this I bought a non-weatherproof relay. It was about -20 in Minnesota and I took my car to the car wash. It was fine during the car wash but when I exited the water instantly froze and a short occurred. The horn was going off and I had to pull off the fuse to shut it down. This shouldn't occur in warmer temperatures.
