Maths ― No Problem! Addition and Subtraction, Ages 5-7 (Key Stage 1) (Master Maths At Home)

My 6 year old loves Maths, but struggles to write all her numbers the correct way round. She finds it too boring to just practice writing the numbers on their own, but has been motivated to use this book to complete exercises and develop her skills.Each double page is a slightly different topic with the complexity progressing as you work through the book. Each page contains a simple explanation which is broken down simply, but most 5 year olds (and some 6 year olds) will need help to read these. My child is in Year 1 and has only covered the first few topics at school currently. Covering these pages has been a useful way for her to revisit the learning from school and she is starting to move ahead to new areas which will help her be familiar with them when she does them at school. I am needing to sit with her to work through these new areas, but she could complete the earlier pages on her own.This book would work well for a child in Year 2 to revise what they have learnt or for children in Year 1 with a strong interest in Maths to get ahead. It's also helpful as a parent to see the methods they are taught these days so I can support my daughter with her homework when she needs it using the method she has been taught at school.Oh and the answers are at the back if you need them.

I have a 5 year old little girl who had started reception this year, she is exceptional with her reading and I wanted something that would help her with her maths also.I do have to say the examples are amazing, each exercise is started with an example then the actual exercise.If you are looking for something that you can give your child and not help, this isn't it, you have to be prepared to sit and explain and go through the steps with them. I can however say that the examples help with the way maths is explained and taught now, compared to when I was in school. So I can actually help a lot more, and help explain it. I love the fact it gives you the steps in which to do each exercise, breaking it down to help do the equation. My 5 year old is picking it up quickly, and I have this book to thank. This will prepare her for year 1, as I think this is when this is for. However the books from the earlier set would of been too easy for her.I will definitely be getting the rest of the set once we have completed this book, and the one before this for my younger daughter too.

We have gone through this book and I can honestly say these are the BEST maths books around!!! I 1000% RECOMMEND them. They are so helpful and so easy to understand. These are perfect to use at home to help our children catch up especially since what has gone on in the last 2 years. I love the way the book is presented, each section has a starter and an example, it’s presented in a brilliant way for our children to read and understand clearly, there is just the perfect balance of text, diagrams and pictures so it isn’t overwhelming for our children. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed this and has done amazing with this book, I’ve noticed the more she did them the quicker she learnt and she was able to answer some without help. I’m super proud how much knowledge she has picked up in a short space of time, she has thoroughly enjoyed doing maths at home. Thank you DK books for making these amazing books, I’m looking forward to purchasing the collection!

My daughter is in reception and 5 yrs of age, personnally i thought it was a little advanced for her age as it covers the 5-7 age range, however whilst it was a little too much for her , she had fun going through it at her own pace in her own time and done it with her elder brother. Who enjoyed helping her out even though she didnt fully understand.It was great to see them working together and having fun whilst learning. I will be getting more of these books as they are a great learning aid and will be looking at this one again in the future with my daughter.Its simple to follow and not overly complicated so the children are able to work by themselves

This Maths-No Problem book is fantastic for my little girl.She was so excited when she received this book, especially as she uses Maths- No problem workbooks at school and favourite subject is Maths. We like how it is set out and how easy it is for both of us to follow! It's bright and colourful, making it engaging for my daughter to read. She finds the methods easy to follow and not overly complicated. It explains each question in simple terms, making it easier for her to understand.She can't wait to work her way through all of the book! I would definitely recommend this book to others, it's fantastic to watch her enthusiasm as she navigates her way throughout workbook! 10/10 from us! We will be purchasing more books in the future.

This book was great for my six year old son who is currently on KS1 stage maths at primary school.My son thrives on a challenge and at first I was a little apprehensive wondering if he would manage the maths within this book, but with a little encouragement from an adult, he found his confidence and flew through the book. It was a great distraction from technology and presented as a fun activity for my son.Even after completing the book, he wanted to continue displaying the techniques and skills he had just learnt.The book is great quality and the price is fantastic for what you get. I love that there are other books in the series and would definitely recommend them for your child.

My son was gifted this book & at a time where children have missed out, on so much school it couldnt have been more welcomed!my son loved sitting down and working through with ease!the questions are so easy to understand and not the usual mumble jumble that maths tends to be from the schools!he got so much learning and understanding from the workbook, in his words" mum this so much better than the maths we have in school"i cannot wait to purchase more of these! for both my children,They really are a great resource, id highly recommend these to anyone
