Plastic Polypropylene Hand Rotary Transfer Drum Barrel Pump

This pump works great for filling the 10-gallon water reservoir on our salt fog chamber at my place of employment...faster than a standard siphon pump ever did. At first, it didn't want to prime and I thought I'd made a mistake in ordering it, so I started cranking it more quickly and it took right off pumping. This is far faster and easier on my shoulder than the slow siphon pumps. I would definitely purchase this item again.

Over all, looks as expected and works. The issue is the mating barrel plug is a fine thread and a smaller diameter and if you didn’t know (like me) there are two holes on the blue 55 gal. barrels. One course and one fine thread. Once I figured that out I got it to work just fine. Wow. Wish I had known that.

Nice, smooth operation. Half the price of cast iron. Takes very little manual force to turn it, and it moves a lot of fluid quickly. Nice to not worry about rust or corrosion. I plan to bring it inside a shelter in the winter to prevent the cold from making it brittle.

I was disappointed to find that the black plastic bung that the intake tube passes through does not have the correct threads for the drum. Although the drum (blue plastic 55 gal) has two opening on the top (course and fine threaded), the bung that was provided did not fit either. The fine threads on the bung were the wrong pitch. You can see in my photo the incorrect bung (black) with a bung that I had to adapt (red) to fit the drum. I tried three different drums to confirm that the bung that came with the pump was incorrectly manufactured.Also, it's important to note that the outlet pipe at the top of the pump has a barbed fitting that requires a 1-inch i.d. hose and hose clamp. There is no easy way to connect a threaded connector to reduce the hose size. I needed to go from 1-inch to 1/2-inch hose and found it very difficult to find the necessary parts locally.

It worked great and now it doesn’t all of the sudden

Have had it for almost a year. Bought 2 different types (the other white) and the other one stopped working a month after use. Just bought 2 more for backup.

Needed something efficient to clean out a sump pump basin. Did the job and pumped out several gallons in just minutes. Pipe builds in sections to about 36+ inches. Had zero issues. Breaks back down and stores easily. Very Happy with this handle pump

Honestly loved this pump, but this is the second one that the top part has broken and this one in just a few months. Now I’m struggling to figure out how to transfer my chems. Very disappointed.
