Easy to use and very effective
I used this to bury 4 X 4 posts for a garden fence. It was very easy to use. The soil was fairly soft and I had no problems getting down three feet. The depth was perfect for 4 x 4 x 8. The posts are very sturdy without wobble. This is a great alternative to motorized or manual hole diggers for a 3 foot hole.

Surprisingly good
This manual auger held up well. I really did not want to use a power auger so opted for this light weight one. The metal is fairly light guage and I was not sure it would hold up. But I installed three lengths of iron pipe railing (pictured) with a total of 21 holes approximately 24” deep. It held up. Now, this was not the only tool used. It was augmented by a post hole digger, narrow shovel and in some cases iron pipe sledgehammered into rock. So yes, this auger was augmented. See what I did there? Hee heeIt held up!

Great for post digging.
This auger took about one minute to assemble. I had to dig 41 holes for an aluminum fence. Each hole had to be 2 feet deep. This worked great. Unless it is garden soil, you do have to start the hole with a shovel or post hole digger but after that, you can use this to dig the rest. It doesn't break through roots, but you can use it sitting down to make it easier on your back. This also gives your shoulders a break from the usual post hole digger. It's also much cheaper and safer than a gas-powered auger.

This works well! In sandy loam
I have sandy loam soil that has roots from trees/shrubs that have been removed… I was absolutely shocked how well this worked.. so much easier than a shovel. I did have a smaller diameter one that I hooked into the drill and it burnt the clutch up in the drill.. I’m not in the market for a hammer drill/cement mixing drill/driver, so this really helps!

Great option!
Bought this hand auger so I could do some landscaping. I used it to dig a hole for a lime tree! This is a great option if you don't want to rip your arms off with an larger engine powered auger. My only critique is that the rubber on the handles rotate which makes it a little difficult to tap the first off for the next go around. But overall very excited for this product!

Broke - Not good for yard posts (garden is best)
Got this bc I needed to replace a wood fence post (4ft fence). Original post was not in concrete, but dug next to it. Ground was wet but not soaked, after a out 1ft it met a lot of resistance and the vertical bar twisted and broke. If you're using in soft soil like flower bed or garden I'm sure it's great, otherwise go for something better. I liked that this was collapsible and was hoping to take it camping to make Dakota fire holes, but just can't handle typical surfaces (Midwest State)

It works well ad long as you are ready to replace the connecting screws.
The connecting screws came off. But it’s easy to replace.

Use lock washers and it's amazing
Had to dig 33 2-foot deep holes and this thing was amazing. After about 10 holes I took it apart and added lock washers to prevent it from trying to come apart from all the torque. Other than that, don't try to overdo it. Just go in to a depth that is comfortable to pull up, dump the dirt off, rinse and repeat.
