Light and hard nylon material gives easy picking, good grip
Available in a variety of weights, the light and slick nylon material glides over the strings and the star-like hole improves grip, especially for sweaty summer night gigs. If they could just develop a pick that doesn't get lost. Until then, buying by the dozen will have to do.

My new favorite and go to pick from now on!
Long time player and came across these hunting for a change of pace from green tortex which I've used forever. I usually have to scuff, scribe or drill holes in my picks for extra grip so when I saw these, I thought I'd give them a try. Well, so glad I found them as these are excellent and will now be my pick of choice. Highly recommend these for anyone who wants or needs a better grip on their pick!

Rock out with confidence with Star Picks
Use this .88 for bass playing. Perfect balance of weight and flexibility in my opinion. I first picked up Star Picks at a music shop in Phila a while ago but couldn't find them locally here in CT (maybe I didn't search far and wide enough) so I found them here. I really like the star as it gives me enhanced grip on the pick. I tend to play high energy music with high energy so it's great to not lose the pick in the middle of a song.

Don't fly away, but still rotate and squeak! Overall decent.
These are pretty decent! I'm just learning guitar right now, I had a resin pick before this that kept flying out of my hands, slipping and rotating, etc. So I bought these. With the hole, they DON'T slip out of your hands and fly away, which is great, but the material has no texture whatsoever, and so the pick will still rotate, especially if your fingers are sweaty. With the material being the way it is, it will also hit the strings and slip/squeak often, a sound I don't like. As a beginner the hand feel is really important for me to be able to learn things effectively and play properly, so these are good, but not at the top for me! A different material or a roughened texture/grip bumps would be really great.

Excellent pic
My son (14) loves these. His guitar teacher gave him one and they were instantly his favorite!

They are all I use anymore.
Pros: Very grippy, the star works just like it is supposed to to keep the pick in your sweaty fingers and doesn't make the pick feel weird. I like this thickness for both leads and strumming.Cons: I ONLY wish they made this thickness in different colors. NO other complaints.BTW, I purchased their tortoiseshell celluloid picks and although they look cool, they are very slippery. I actually sanded the picks to try to roughen them up, but in the end I had to go back to my trusty green ones :)

These picks are amazing
When I first heard of these I thought the idea was stupid. It seemed to me like a hole in the pick would be pointless and it would still slide around with sweaty fingers. Well one day a friend of mine was using one so I tried it and I will never look back. My picking attack is more precise now than ever, and these picks feel more comfortable in my hand than the dunlop picks I used to use. I was given a 1mm by my friend and decided to order my own pack of .88mm. It's worth mentioning that some people feel with these picks you might want to go up a gauge or two because the hole makes them feel like a smaller gauge. I don't notice a huge difference myself. With the dunlop picks I used .88mm and I still prefer them over the 1mm with the star picks. The only bad part of my experience was that for some reason my post office sent them back to sender. I still give them 5 stars though because when I asked where my stuff was they responded right away and sent them back to me a few days later.
