Bought this Tach to replace a older Teleflex model that had quit working. Installation would have been easy enough, but the hole that had been cut out was too small for the Faria. The pole switch setting was confusing to me, and I contacted support and Jason with Faria called me back within minutes and gave me the solution. Tach worked excellent until 5200 rpms smooth as silk, and needle does not jump around, rock steady. It quits however if the rpms exceed 5200 and doesn't work again until the rpms fall to 5200. Jason again called me back and gave me some things to try, and if that fails, I can send the tach in to be bench tested. Best customer service I have ever dealt with. will update the review when I get a chance to try out the fixes on the lake.

Affordable and qaulity replacement for my application
I used these tachs on my 79 Silverton. They work perfectly . They fit right in the original holes and have a very similar look to the originals.

Direct Replacement for my OEM Gauge
Used this to replace my 30 year old Tracker gauge on my 1989 Tracker 1600TF. The fit was the same dropping right into the factory hole with no modifications. simple to wire up and mount for a clean look.

Great tachometer..
The media could not be loaded. I recently purchased a used boat which had the incorrect tach setting on it. Unfortunately, the adjustment on the old tach was broken. So, I purchased this, along with several other Faria gauges. They seem to be good marine grade quality. The tach is very accurate…I compared it to a reading off the spark wire with an inductive pickup on my multimeter. It’s within +-50 RPM. I’m actually quite happy I was forced to replace my old tach and it made me completely redo my instrument panel. The Faria gauges seems to be a good buy!! Now, only time will tell how long they last. My best guess, they will outlast the length I have the boat for. You won’t be disappointed with this purchase.

Works great with Yamaha 4 stroke outboard
Used this over the old Yamaha electronic tach on a recent dinghy/RIB refit. Looks great, works well!

Not accurate
Installed with a Yamaha 225 four stroke and set the dial as specified in the documentation, but it is not at all accurate as to the actual RPMs
