Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine Expert Consult

It was really easy to deal with the second hand bookstore I ordered this book through. The two volume textbook set was as described, and the online code was still intact and usable! I am an RVT working at a specialty/emergency hospital, and while some of the info is a bit over my head, these books have some great diagrams and information in them, and anything I don't understand I can always ask one of the internal medicine DVMs about for clarification.

A must have for every veterinarian and every veterinary student. I have been using this Textbook since I went to veterinary school in the 1980's and have read every edition. It keeps getting better. I no longer purchase every small animal internal medicine book like I used to as Dr. Ettinger's book is so comprehensive there is no need to buy other books. The Expert Consult section is extremely helpful and I find the Client Information sheets to be a great tool as it gives my clients a real source of info keeping them away from Dr. Google! I honestly consider this book the bible of small animal internal medicine.

I got this book because I don't trust the vet my dog has been going to and I want to play doggy vet. I have a good enough medical background, so I figured I could understand most of it. I am actually disappointed the book does not have as much information/research as I wanted. I thought this book would be more like Harrison's Internal Medicine for humans...but it oh well. It's as heavy as it and takes as much space as Harrison's!It has nice diagrams...but the sections aren't detailed enough. Also, I have a Jack Russell which is not in the index of the book but other breeds are...so I guess vets don't consider JRTs/Parsons as true breeds...or they didn't think the breed was worth mentioning – but they like Dalmatians and Pugs.I did learn/review a few things in my first read and so in that respect the book has been helpful. It is definitely better than the garbage flooding the internet!

I purchased and received this book a few weeks ago and have had no issues with the online eConsult as previously reported. I use it primarily on an iPad and it works seamlessly. Much better than having to carry the physical book around.The eConsult has a great search function and I really love that they included videos to compliment certain chapters and topics. A must-have resource for veterinarians, vet students, veterinary specialists.

If you practice small animal medicine this is your Bible. The only thing I had the hardest time was trying to get access to expert consult online since redeem code is broken. Read carefully instructions to activate this with ISB number. If plug in the incorrect number no matter how hard you try, you won't get access to this part of these 2 volume set online.

This is the classicVeterinary textbook. Although I now lookup specific details online, I find reading through these 2 books is helpful at keepingme current as I get further away from school. It is technical, so a pet owner should not buy it thinking they can diagnose or treat their pet.

This text is a powerful tool that belongs in the hands of every veterinary student and veterinarian. As a fourth year veterinary student I find myself constantly seeking answers within its pages. Clinically relevant breakdowns of just about every medical condition with access to a deep well of online content, (of which I feel I have barely scratched the surface of), makes this book a resource I am grateful to have and one that I continue to draw from long into my future career.

A great text book. Incudes videos (great for new graduates). Very easy to search for subjects.. Highly recommended
