A must for making sushi rice!
This is so much better for flavoring sushi rice than rice vinegar alone or trying to substitute with Sake. This is sort of a smooth and slightly sweet sake. I have wonderful Asian markets locally and they just don’t stock this. Amazon was the only place I was able to find it.

Great for making dipping sauce
I love this Kikkoman Mirin Sweet Cooking Sake. I mix it with soy sauce, rice wine and a few threads of green onion for a potsticker diipping sauce. The best.

Hearts and Stars - It's Great
OK, I hate the shipping but since I don't care to drive an hour to the Asian grocery it's a convenience charge I accept. I've ordered at least a half dozen; quality and packaging are always solid. It has a singular taste (white wine will not do if you're going for authenticity's) and it's not a "cooking wine" so no added salt, just the good stuff. Keep it in the fridge after you open, af ter its in there a while it'll develop crystal looking bits, which effect is drinking flavor but not so much when you cook or make sauces with it.

Three Stars
Good flavor, but more on the dry side compared to other mirin that I've used.

Bottle was broken and spilled out.
The only reason for one star is because the bottle was broken and empty when I got it so I never even got to use it.

Real Sake
Hard find real Mirin with Sake. So far not sure what store will have it.
