Correcting my last review: The battery seems okay, now.
I am changing my review. I was wrong. I had initially left a review saying that the battery was bad upon purchase. This is because it was completely depleted upon the second use after the initial charge. When I went to charge it, it wouldn't hold a charge, anymore. It sat hours on the charger brick. Then, I moved it to the USB outlet charger in the hallway. It still wouldn't charge beyond one dot. I was about to order another battery but decided to try recharging the battery one more time. This time, I used another cord and the brick I used the first time I charged it. It took longer to charge but it did charge. Maybe there was something wrong with my charging gear. The battery is holding up. My apologies.

Works Like New!
I’m very pleased with this new battery. My speaker went from not lasting more than 10 minutes back to lasting for hours. Installation is straightforward. There are some very helpful instructional videos on YouTube. Getting the old battery out was a little challenging, but tapping it out with a rod and small hammer worked fine. Definitely recommend this battery to revive your JBL Flip 4.

Works great
My JBL flip 4 is quite old, I bought it probably 10 years ago, so of course the battery was not working properly, it was not dead, but it was troubleshooting all the time, so I decide to change it in this solution is perfect, I just struggled with removing old battery, It was bloated, as i was excepted, I tried to remove it multiple times, but nothing it was not even moving. In the end when I decided to give up and throw the whole thing in a trash, the idea came to meI just used the corkscrew and it worked perfectly, just like wiht wine bottle 😀 only be careful do not breathe the old battery odor cover your mouth and nose, and don’t touch it without gloves.

New life for the JBL Flip
Found helpful instructions on line since there were none per se with the battery. Key to changing this out is patience. In addition to a number of tiny screws you need to deal with, the old battery was stuck in the speaker. A note with the instructions I found on line warned of this. The old battery apparently expanded over time and the covering then stuck to the speaker. Carefully, used the flat tool as a wedge to gently separate the battery from the case. Once that was free it was easy to push the old battery out. There was no issue putting the new battery in. New battery charged up and has been working great.

It works and is cheaper than a new speaker
Brought my almost 10 year old speaker back to life! The old battery would barely last 10-15 mins. After replacing it it now lasts about 3-4 hours. Super stoked I didn't have to buy a new speaker

Old Battery Removal is Impossible
This is not an indictment on the battery itself, as I never got to install it.The old battery is impossible to remove. I tried alcohol and Goof Off and nothing would loosen it.It must have been welded in place. The serial numbers of the models that have batteries that can not be replaced should have been included in the battery details on the front page.

My JBL Flip 4 now lasts a long time on battery again!
My JBL Flip 4 was becoming sort of unusable. As soon as I plugged it in, the battery indicator LEDs indicated it had nearly a full charge and perhaps would only "charge" for perhaps 5~10 minutes. But then it would only operate for 10 minutes or so on battery. An online search suggested some software updates from JBL, but the symptom seemed more likely to be a new battery was needed.I purchased this battery then followed YouTube videos on installing it.The only issue I had was the battery in my Flip 4 seemed to have swelled a bit and really gotten stuck. I was unable to pull it from the compartment by tugging on the connector lead as shown online, in fact the connector and cable pulled out of the battery. So I slid a thin piece of flat metal in between the battery and housing to "unstick" the battery, then grabbed the battery with needle-nose pliers to remove it. The new battery installed easily, it slid right in. I followed the instructions to re-assemble the Flip 4. It works great and charges just like new. I should have done this a while ago!
