Only one brush comes with the purchase. One shows what the brush looks like when you wind it up to use. The other is with lid.

Q: Would this work for lip balm/gloss? I hate touching lip balm with my fingers but I don't want to be wasteful with the disposable applicators.

I actually just ordered a second one of these so I could use one for lipstick touch ups and another for my glosses and lip balms! The brush works great on all lip products, in my opinion, but it does take longer to clean after you use it with a balm. Hope this helps!
