Q: What are the side dimensions of the bottle?

The sides are about 2 1/4 inches, and it stands about 12 inches at the tip of the spout

Q: Are these drizzle spouts or free flowing ?

I am unsure what drizzling means as it's an ambiguous question. These have a spout hole about 3/16 inches wide and a very small air nozzle on the neck to allow air back into the container as one pours. The oil "free flows", but in a limited way as the spout is small. One can "drizzle" oil into a pan or onto food using a quick back and forth motion while holding the container horizontal.If you have ever seen one of these at an Italian restaurant, these are an exact replica.

Q: does the spout have a cap from it being exposed?

No it does not have any cap. It looks just the way it is in the picture. It's a good buy though.

Q: does oil leak from the tip and roll down the outside after pouring? Mine does and wondering if it's defective.

No, nothing leaks from any of the Tablecraft Olive Oil Dispenser sets that I have received . Yours must be defective, I have sets for olive oil, mouthwash, liquid laundry detergent and even dish liquid and none of them leak.
