Great, Bioavailable CoQ10 Supplement from a Name You Can Trust
I take CoQ10 supplements for heart health. There is a very long history of cardiac disease in my family, probably largely due to the MTHFR mutation. I take the need to protect my heart very seriously. My younger sister, unfortunately, is already dealing with congestive heart failure. I hope to avoid many of those same issues, or at least prolong my currently healthy heart.Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant that is found already in ever cell of your body. It helps break down free radicals, which are a byproduct of aging and disease. With age, though, and with many chronic diseases, natural levels of CoQ10 decrease. Promising results have been found with supplementation of CoQ10 in various forms for treatment of everything from heart failure to breast cancer. There are many different formulations of CoQ10 on the market today, with varying followings and evidence as to why their product is the most effective type or most bioavailable (in a form that the body can actually use).I love that this version has full information as to what type of CoQ10 is used, in this case it is Ubiquinol. Doctor's Best "Kaneka QH" is a patented version of Ubiquinol in which the coenzyme is already broken down to a more bioavailable form. They also have studies to back up why they believe that this formulation is a more efficient way to provide CoQ10 supplementation. Small, easily to swallow gel caps that have no offensive odor. It seems to give me energy and I simply feel better when I am on it. As I was trying to decrease the amount of supplements I took in a day, I stopped taking it for awhile. Well, I definitely missed it and am now back on CoQ10. This bottle is, for me, a 90 day supply.

Good Product
Excellent quality. Good price, too. Ubiquinol is more expensive, of course, than Co-Q-10. On advice from a health advisor at a supplement store, I was told to try the Co-Q 10- as it does work for some of us over the age of 50. I did so for about two weeks, and didn't notice too much. Then I switched to Ubiquinol and found I did feel better, and it also brought my blood pressure down. I have normal kidney function...but when I get stressed (which is often) I find I don't urinate as much (cortisol levels are higher which causes water retention/kidneys hold onto). But, when I take the Ubiquinol it helps with that. Of course, my observation is just that, anecdotal, but definitely noticeable and desirable result. Another benefit is that my high blood pressure came down by 20 points for Systolic (the top number) and about 10 points for diastolic. As for energy purposes...I don't notice much of a difference.

Best for aches, cramps and general ageing.
I have not found any better than Doctors Best Ubiquinol. A high speed, head on collision 30 years ago, combined with cholesterol lowering meds, made for a very sore, achy existence for me. I tried many other forms of CoQ10, as my doctor suggested. Then I read about Ubiquinol, the form of CoQ10 your body can use. When you take CoQ10, your liver must process it into ubiquinol, which is the form your cells can absorb. Well, I'm getting on in years, and I thought maybe I should help my liver out a little. THANK GOD I DID! It has relieved a significant amount of my pain and raised my energy level too. Doctor's Best is high quality at an affordable price...especially when purchased at Amazon.com.

Helped my periodontal problem
I always thought I took very good care of my teeth: I used to brush my teeth 3 times a day (after breakfast, lunch and dinner), floss every day, and didn’t have any cavity since I was probably 15. However, I didn’t go to the dentist for regular cleaning for years. I was devastated when I was first told that I had a severe case of gum recession when I was only 30. Since then, I've been to 3 different periodontists and have had 3 surgeries: 2 tissue grafts and 1 bone graft. I now have my teeth cleaned every 4 months and use an electric brush (Sonicare) at night (I still use a manual toothbrush in the morning). About 3 years ago, many of my teeth still had 4–5 mm pockets, which scared me because I didn’t want to go through another surgery. I did some research and found that coenzyme Q10 (or its form Ubiquinol, which some say is absorbed faster and for that reason recommended for people over 25) can help fight gum disease. Although I have been told by different hygienists that gum recession could not be reversed, now I think coQ10 can. After over 2 years of taking Kaneka Ubiquinol (I usually take only one pill a day, and the pill is small, soft, and very easy to swallow), I’m glad to say that the pocket numbers have lowered to 2-3mm in most of my teeth and a couple 4mm. Also, there was one time last year when one tooth became very sensitive for no apparent reason. Neither my dentist or periodontist could find anything wrong with that tooth and recommended toothpaste like sensodyne. I knew sensodyne would just mask the problem, so I decided to take the Ubiquinol more consistently, and the sensitivity finally went away. I noticed that even if I skip it for several days or couple of weeks in a row, I’m fine, but if I don’t take it for more than 1 month or so, my tooth becomes sensitive again. Now, when I hear anyone complaining of gum recession or sensitive teeth, I tell them to try CoQ10 or Ubiquinol.

Works, but large pills
These work fine. I use them to supplement statin pills my husband gets that were causing him muscle pain. Since statins block the CoQ10 we need for our muscles, this has been the perfect solution. I take Red Yeast Rice as a natural statin just to keep my ldl's low, and I take this as well. I can't speak to any of the other benefits the write-up promotes, but if you take statins, Ubiquitol is the way to go to prevent painful side effects. I give this 4 stars since I have another brand with the same dosage that is much smaller and easier for me to swallow. These are pretty big for my small throat and I need lots of water to get them down.
