This product is very sturdy and find center well.

It works
I love this device the only issue is it does not work well for the tip or all the way to the ricasso if you have a short ricasso (which I always have, I see them as a waste of blade space.)

Unfinished and Worthless as Delivered
The scribe arrived without a threaded hole for the thumbscrew that holds the scribe shaft tight. Without the threaded hole, the item is worthless. Fortunately, I have the tools to drill and tap the proper hole, but I imagine some do not. Very unhappy. For anyone who got a similar scribe, the thumbscrew is M4-.7 thread. The proper hole to drill is .1299 dia (and since the scribe block is aluminum, a 1/8 bit should work).

Made well, bad design
It’s a quality product but the design is really flawed. You can’t scribe near the ends of a blade because there’s nothing for the bearings to ride on to keep the scribe point centered.

Tried to use this on a few blades I am working on. Seemed to work ok, but I needed to adjust the depth and when I tried to turn the set screw it just snapped off in the hole. I requested a replacement and will try it again, but will likely replace the set screw with something a little tougher than the brass one included. It seems especially soft and easily broken. Everything was finger tight, no tools used to stress the screw, its just a junk screw.
