I grew up watching the X-Men cartoons and recently introduced my kids to them (all under 10). My kids wanted to be an X-Men and while riding that high, this game was released. This matched the old school cartoon so well and the kid’s were able to to pick their favorite X-Men to go on missions. True, its all a crap shoot and a luck of the di roll, but its simple enough where they could play it with ease. Getting to the “boss fights” were awesome since they had no idea the cards flipped over had a sprawling panoramic view when the cards combined. I agree the mechanics are simple, and it may not have the depth or strategy of other games, or that its “just a reskinned Elder Signs”. But guess what? The theme works, its simple, and there are enough missions and characters to keep things interesting.

With a few house rule tweak to make it harder and playing with 5 characters this is a great game. The components are really nice. No need to paint mini as it comes with standees.

The core mechanic is basically Elder Sign. However, my main complaint about Elder Sign is that it's punishingly hard. X-Men: Mutant Insurrection ramps the difficulty down a welcome notch, and it's a much better setting.It also does an excellent job at using the X-Men theme. I'm a major X-Men fan, and appreciated how deep the comics references were to actual storylines. There's also a LOT of characters available with a lot of fun abilities. And the game is much more cooperative than Elder Sign, with good mechanics for assisting others on missions.I hope we see more content for this in the future, it's a fun game!

Great game, fun to play and not to complicated to play so my kids are having a great time playing.I wish they would have given you proper miniatures.Delivered on time and in great condition.

I really enjoyed this game. The artwork is beautiful. The gameplay was simple, yet fun. Good for solo play or playing with a group. I hope that they come out with expansion packs for it. I actually enjoyed this more than Champions. That could be, of course, due to the fact that there are so few characters available for Champions thus far. Regardless, I immensely enjoyed the game and if you're a tabletop gamer or an X-Men fan I'd say give it a try.
