Yes it definitely can I have a smaller wind turbine on this the wattage they list for this product is the maximum but you can run a much smaller one without a problem this is a very good unit this gives you the wattage the amperage it tells you your battery power some of these are very complicated you can't figure them out but this one is extremely easy to read all the different digital information

As long as your generator doesn't go above 60 V you should be okay I have done this do not connect 48 volt generator to 12 volt battery Direct you definitely need the charge controller once the charge controller is hooked up to your 12 volt battery it doesn't matter if you put in under 60 V but you definitely need to charge controller because it reads the battery you should be okay
