Kills blackberry vines
Originally I used this product in the pre-mixed spray and found it to be very effective in killing the blackberry vines that seem to pop up all over my yard in rural Southern Oregon. To save a bit of money in the long run I bought this concentrate and a sprayer to deal with this problem. My two gallon sprayer takes only 4 ounces of this product mixed with 2 gallons of water and turns it into a very effective brush killing spray. The vines begin to whither within 24 hours, and if desired you can spray it liberally as a preventative dose. After having used other brush killers, I find this one to be just as effective if not more so. It's easy to mix and the price is right so I'll keep buying and using it for as long as it's available. (Which I hear might not be too long as some say it's been discontinued.) Better stock up!Great product - highly recommend it!

My only go to for pi eradication
I do not spray my yard nor use chemicals of any type but do so only for poison ivy. I am quite allergic and seek the plants out every few weeks. Because you spray it only on the pi and it works systemically it is not broadcast; you only spray the pi. I had to get this via amzn because locally they only had the very large size I do not need.It works!!

Slow, but it works if you mix it a little stronger
I took the advice of other reviewers and mixed this weed killer at 6 ounces per gallon of water instead of 4 ounces. It was good advice. It was still slow to work, taking about three weeks to see definite results. I'm okay with that. It seems to work faster in warmer weather. It does work on poison ivy. It works on blackberry. It works pretty quickly on oxalis, but doesn't really wipe out dollarweed. It doesn't do much to English ivy. And it will kill shrubbery if you apply enough, so be diligent to avoid overspraying plants you want to keep.

It just works... period.
This stuff is wonderful. I’m extra allergic to poison ivy... like if I look at it, I break out. We live on a rainwater run off creek and the ivy tends to pop up near the banks... its favorite growing environment. It was bad when we bought the property, I used this and it knocked it all out. Months later it obviously came back... but not nearly as much as before. Spayed it again... killed it off. Every time I use this (I have for a couple years), the next growing season it comes back less and less. It’s a weed, it’ll never be fully gone, but this stuff works wonders to keep it very very manageable. After a spraying, I know I’m good for at least a few months of zero poison ivy. And the best part?! I don’t itch. ;)

Might be working. Just very slowly
I sprayed some invasive honeysuckle that we had growing around the boundary of our property and some over various weeds. I then sprayed again a week later when it didn't look like anything had happened. The second time I sprayed, I increased the dose 50%. A month later, the honey suckle is starting to yellow so maybe it is dying very slowly? Most of the weeds died, but it didn't kill the grass that was growing where we didn't want it too. So I guess it is safe to use in your yard.

Great product
This is an excellent brush killer! You won't have see results instantly but within a week you'll see leave starting to wilt I was in a month the plants will die much easier than trying to dig this stuff out and making sure that have a brush doesn't come back... this is recommended by our garden guy at our local Home Depot is one of the easier ways to cut down on thick brush and not having to manually chop everything out and everything keep coming back will use this last year and it worked very well and now I'm just trying to get another layer of thick brush cut back so far doing the trick very well ! We used a pump sprayer that we purchase from the local Home Depot and mixed A Little Bit Stronger but according to the directions definitely wear goggles if it's a windy days when you're spraying up into the brush or down on the brush it doesn't blow into your face. Excellent on buckthorn too! Favorite product!

First tried the recommended mixture of 4 oz per gallon
This Ortho product is disappointing, sprayed it on poison ivy and some ivy growing on my tree. First tried the recommended mixture of 4 oz per gallon, Nothing happened and it did not rain. then tried 8oz per gallon and I saw some mild wilting on the poison ivy but it did not kill it (8 days since)I think this stuff is watered down.

Ortho Max Poison Ivy Brush Killer - worked for removing Sumac tree sucker roots/shoots.
This Ortho Max Poison Ivy and Tough Brush Killer worked very well to stop sumac tree sucker tree roots from sprouting up. We had a sumac tree that started growing- we didn't plant it and there aren't any sumacs close by. It grew to the second floor height and constant trimming (or really removal of branches) just encouraged it to shoot up new branches and it got bigger. So we had our tree guy remove it and even grind up the stump. However, half a year later, the sumac is sending up over a dozen new sucker roots which happens if you miss destroying even one root. Followed directions and carefully sprayed and brushed this Ortho onto the leaves and also on some fresh cuts on some of the sucker branches, during fall when most plants are supposedly storing up reserves in their root systems.Six months after application and there are no signs up sumac shoots, so the Ortho Max worked! It also got rid of other tough and unwanted plants like a fig tree and some persistent climbing wall ivy that Roundup couldn't remove.
