Let these cans break in for a couple of days before evaluating, mine lacked any base and the treble was a sharp, but after a couple of days playing in the corner I put them on and they sounded smoother the frequency response was filled out.The He 6Se is a bit of an oddball for the hifiman lineup. I have Aryas, Anandas, and the 400 SE. I would say the He6 Se is the exact opposite of the Ananda in that it is a bit more dynamic and aggressive The 6 SE will give you a weighty, visceral impact, especially in kick drums and plucked instruments at even moderate listening levels which is kind of nonexistent in the market for a planar under 1k. I would rate the soundstage as being fairly small, but the imaging is closer to the Arya stealth in that it really seems to have a lot more gradations in positioning and separate images about as well. There is also some layering like the stealth which the Ananda OG lacks. The resolution is vert good for the under 1k mark, but has a good bit of air up top that I found a tad metallic and EQ'd out.Note that you will need at least 2 watts a channel balanced to even get an understanding of what this headphone can do, and that is your amp on high gain almost maxed out at reasonable listening levels.. I believe highfiman sells an ef400 which is around 5 watts and that should pair well. These cans have a flat bass response that extends all the way down to 20 hz, but can accommodate a bass shelf of 10 DB while remaining tight and controlled, so that is why you would want to pay extra for more wattage. If you do not want to EQ this headphone, then I would stay away from linear and get something with a warm tilt. This headphone already has a neutral signature, but there is a good bit of air frequency that could get annoying if it is not rolled off.Other than that, they sound very natural and enjoyable. I have been able to play a variety of genres,and they do not seem to cross any lines other than they can at times be a bit sibilant on female vocals. I imagine proper amp pairing is the issue as these cans are said to be very picky and I have them on a THX linear that is under powered.At the $500.00 I paid, I am giddy. They come very close in performance to an Arya stealth if you weigh their technical abilities, the Arya sounding wider, while this hits harder, and sounds much more controlled. I imagine these will scale a lot better than the arya with better amps, so they have a ton of potential depending on how much you want to spend.

First the bad. The cable is horrendous, too short, twisty and kinked. Horrible.Secondly the meh. They need more clamp force but aren’t uncomfortable.Finally, who cares? They sound so darned good compared to other well regarded cans from Sennheiser and Focal that I’m happy to buy a different cable and a headband mod to improve the fit.Yes, they take a lot of oomph to drive properly but with a powerful head amp these are simply brilliant across genres.Just try them.

Ce casque est exceptionnel ! Il a tout : un grave très lisible qui descend bas et, surtout, avec de l’impact, un medium présent et articulé juste comme il faut, un niveau d’aigu parfait, sans la remontée systématique et pénible des autres Hifiman, un équilibre global vraiment excellent, un côté vivant et chantant, et une image sonore réaliste, sans être particulièrement grandiose.Il est capable du meilleur si bien alimenté. Mais c’est là tout le problème : comment l’alimenter correctement ! Il ne s’agit pas juste de puissance, le HE6SEv2 est totalement transparent donc la « personnalité » de l’ampli ressortira très clairement. Il gagne aussi en naturel en mettant des grilles plus ouvertes.A part ça, je trouve son confort assez mauvais car trop lourd pour ce bandeau. Mais là aussi, il existe des moyens de le rendre beaucoup plus confortable (j’ai trouvé mon bonheur sur eBay).Chez Hifiman j’ai eu aussi l’Ananda Nano (très punchy, très vivant mais aussi très sec donc vite fatigant), l’Arya Organic (magnifique medium mais globalement trop rond, je m’ennuyais) et le HE1000 v2 Stealth (très bon dans l’ensemble, mais cette fameuse remontée dans l’aigu vient saboter ses qualités).Donc si vous recherchez un casque polyvalent de très haute qualité sans vous ruiner et que vous êtes disposé à tâtonner pour trouver le bon ampli, alors le HE6SEv2 pourrait bien être votre casque ultime. En tout cas il l’est pour moi.

Fazit nach einer Woche Nutzung: es ist zwar kein Wow-Gefühl im Vergleich zu Sundara (was bei Sundara der Fall war - zuvor Deva Pro genutzt und reihenweise einiges bis 200€ gründlich untersucht - Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Audiotechnica etc.) aber deutlicher Mehrwert (mehr Auflösung, Dynamik, Breite, Sättigung).Fazit nach einem Monat: wenn sich die Ohren an den reichen Sound gewöhnt haben, wollen sie sich mit nichts Einfacherem zufrieden geben.Zwischenbemerkung: die oft zurecht vorgebrachte Kritik am He6se v2 bezüglich des billigen Kopfbandes ist richtig gesehen ein Vorteil. Genau deswegen bekommt man einen Highend-Kopfhörer zum Preis eines mittelmäßigen Kopfhörers (natürlich mitbedingt durch die Tatsache der Schwierigkeit des Antreibens. Wie weiter unten ausgeführt, entweder einen guten DAC amp (bereits der billige Douk P1 ist gut genug) mit einem gewöhnlichen Vollverstärker über Lautsprecher-Ausgang anschließen oder SMSL AO300 kaufen - auch über Lautsprecher-Ausgang).Unbedingt notwendig ist ein ausreichend starker Verstärker. Der Kopfhörerausgang an durchschnittlichem Vollverstärker reicht nicht aus (schon gar nicht Vorverstärker oder Endgerät ohne Verstärker). Ich habe den Kopfhörer an Lautsprecher-Ausgang eines Vollverstärkers angeschlossen (passende Kabel selbst zubereiten oder Anschlussbox von Hifiman kaufen für 100€ - es gibt allerdings Stimmen, die halten den Sound über die Box als nicht befriedigend).Der Kopfhörerverstärker von Hifiman ef400 ist mir nicht ausreichend stark für he6se v2. Nur als Vorverstärker/DAC zu empfehlen. Ob er mehr liefert (als DAC) als der billige douk P1 z.B. ist die Frage. Ohne ganz genau hinzuhören erstmal kein Unterschied (Nachtrag: auch beim genaueren Hinhören liefert ef400 als DAC keinen besseren Ton. Scheint sinnlose Investition zu sein).SMSL AO300 liefert über Lautsprecher-Ausgang genug Schubkraft und klingt ausgezeichnet (SMSL AO200 dagegen überzeugt gar nicht), ist relativ klein und somit mobil.Zu empfehlen ist ein EQ. Ganz gut mit guten Presets für he6se V2 ist der Peace EQ. Störende Anteile einfach herunterregeln - und den perfekten Sound finden. Ein Tipp für noch besseren Sound: die Hörer so am Kopf platzieren, dass sie den Kopf nicht berühren (z.B. Luftkissen zwischen den Bügel beidseitig klemmen) - das Raumgefühl ist noch besser, Bässe sind satter.
