Very convenient for high-quality snorkeling photos and videos
We've been snorkeling with this case for 3 days now and it works great. Just free diving down to about 10 feet, so nothing too severe, but several hours underwater and several gigabytes worth of images and movies taken. We typically leave the RX100 in program auto mode and then can either take photos with the trigger or movies with the movie button without having to change modes. The dial which rotates the control dial around the lens is convenient to turn and we typically use it for adjusting the ISO. The zoom control is also convenient. All the other buttons work but honestly don't get much use.The included camera strap is functional but we replaced it with a better camera strap that we had from a previous Sony underwater housing. One other note, the housing is quite positively buoyant. Definitely better than the other way around but I might eventually add a small weight so that it's closer to neutrally buoyant.

Power button dose not work
The power button didn't work.i had to turn it on before putting it in, but leaving it on when you don't need it drains the battery. Everything else worked good. But it's useless if you can't turn on the camera.

Much better than the Chinese case I had before
I'm using it with the first RX100 and I like it much better than the Chinese brand housing I had before. I'm using it for stills only so no comments on video. The main reasons I upgraded to this housing were:1. The lever shutter button. On the previous case I had the regular button and half the time it got stuck and I was unable to take a picture, this was by far the number one annoyance I had with that case. With this housing I'm able to take a picture 95% of the time and able to use the half click focus about 40% of the time.2. The black flash blocker that doesn't cause a huge amount of backscatter (my previous case was completely transparent, but on newer models of the Chinese brand they fixed it).3. I'll be able to use this housing if I upgrade to a newer RX100.4. Much cheaper than the fully metal housings.Other things that I found to be better than my previous housing are:5. The front dial to change aperture/shutter speed works extremely well and is comfortable to use.6. The rear buttons each have a different height so they are easy to press.7. Double O ring which makes me feel more secure. There are only two cons for me with this one:1. The mode dial is quite awful, either doesn't work or skips multiple modes at once. This is the only thing that was superior on my older housing.2. The lever shutter button is still not excellent, still quite difficult to half click.Other thoughts:Although this housing cannot control the rear dial it doesn't bother me too much since when I'm in M mode I just go for a sec to S mode and change the shutter speed then back to M mode to change the aperture. The RX100 is good enough for me underwater that I don't think I need a newer RX100, with the external flash I don't use high ISOs and I don't use much auto focus since most of my good photos come with the +7 diopter which I find only usable with focus peaking.

Almost perfect
Superb quality. I'd give it 5 stars it only it provided access to the control dial on the back. The wheel you see on the back is for the top mode dial. Shooting in full manual mode becomes a bit awkward as you can only change aperture with the front left knob. The big plus side: you don't need a new housing if you upgrade to a never camera in the RX-100 series!

BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY OF ANY UNDERWATER HOUSING
If you are going to be underwater and you own a Sony RX100 camera, look no further. This is one of the most reasonably priced underwater housings and works like an absolute champ. I had no issues, no leaks, and perfect user experience.

Excellent housing for the RX-100 series.
I decided to replace the small format video cameras I have been using (goPro and Intova) and put my RX-100 first gen into this housing.Perfection. There is plenty of space for small dessicant packs. The housing will accommodate any of the RX-100 series. The housing allows for use of all functions and it's perfectly set up.I am using this for video and love the ability to take stills at the same time. Great form and function. The housing is simple and easy to use.

No spare parts - incl o-ring sealant
The housing itself worked just fine! But as any underwater camera enthusiast knows, your o-ring will eventually need to be replaced. It is a small piece of rubber that provides the watertight seal. The housing instructions itself say that with the slightest damage or deformation it should be replaced, or at least once a year. The problem —- Sony no longer makes this small spare part - and Sony will tell you to contact their authorized parts partner. They in turn don’t even have this housing in their records and certainly don’t have this small piece of rubber that costs a tiny amount to make —— I found a seller in Europe that sold it for around $40 and then shipped it to you for another $25. With only 1 left in stockSoooo for me, it took 3 months before I wanted to get a spare the o-ring (guessing it should be more than $5 part! ), and if you can’t get it at a reasonable price, makes your ENTIRE underwater housing obsolete!!!So obsolescence is programmed into this product within one year OR MUCH EARLIER if you use it frequently!

What a waste of $278
The housing was lovely until I went to turn my camera off and on. The power button the housing did not work and I have to undo the casing and break the water right seal just to turn my camera off! Unfortunately the retur window has closed so I can’t return it. What a waste of $278!
