I'm not an artist but I was not impressed with these. They are no different than Crayola but cost twice as much.

I normally start my Coloring with a soft-lead pencil, then locate the same or almost identical, matching color from the Marco Raffines. Going over the soft leaded colors with the provides a superb. even, smooth finish! I tend to be overly meticulous, or perfectionistic, in my coloring efforts! These Marco Raffine Pencils are absolutely wonderful!---perhaps the most vivid colors I have found over the last 4 years!

These Marco Raffine oil based colored pencils are, for me, my new go to pencils. I love the fact that they are oil based, I have discovered that my coloring experience is so much more pleasant than with the wax based alternative. The oil based core pushes the pigment like butter, providing a smooth, even application. I did not have any issues sharpening them, and experienced very little breakage during coloring. Best of all.. no wax buildup or over brandishing issues with Marco Raffine, oil based colored pencils. I have colored using a few different brands, including Faber- Castell, goldfaber brand and it is my opinion that they compare quite nicely.. Very satisfied with this product and will definitely buy a replacement set when the time comes.

I think these are very nice pencils for coloring. They have nice coverage and pigment. They sharpen very nicely and don't break easily. They are a good value and quality. They arrived packaged well.

This is my 2nd set. Loved the first set. Something is seriously wrong with this set. Many have split casings, one has paint smeared from the end dripped down the length of the pencil. They vary in size (length). Very disappointed. I hate giving a less than stellar review and having had a positive experience in the past, it's sad to have to do this. It's not just the cosmetic aspect. The cores of many pencils are scratchy, leaving unwanted marks.I would say you get what you pay for, but I paid the same for the first set that I was happy with. Passing these on to the kids. So sad.

So I’ve got these on sale at a store. Has a good selection of colors, not bad to color with as they keep a sharp point and fun to use, and it’s overall an ok budget pencil. However, It is not the best budget pencil around. The colors are not as vibrant as I’d like them to be and the blending is not the best. I wouldn’t say these are artist grade pencils at all as I have worked with a lot of pencils like Amazon Basics, Faber-Castell, Prismacolor, Crayola, and so on. These are ok for coloring books, beginners and hobbyists. These are very bad in lightfastness and will fade very badly within a few months. They do lay down color ok, but decent on smoothness. I’m not a fan of the design or the pencil barrel on these. You’re better off with an SJ Starjoy or Crayola if you’re looking for a good budget pencil for larger sets. I truthfully think that getting a small set of a really good colored pencil even if there are fewer colors is better than a large set of cheap colored pencils, so it may be worthwhile to look into a Prismacolor or Polychromos just to see why they are so special.
