You will NEVER regret buying Olympus OEM batteries.
I have been an Olympus digital camera user for over fifteen years, and I've learned the hard way that the best accessories for you to get with your Olympus camera are usually those made by Olympus.I can tell you from my years of experience that Olympus OEM batteries are, by far, the best value for the money, despite their seeming high cost. Why is that? Because they LAST. I still have the original Olympus BLM-1 battery for my circa. 2003 Olympus E-1 camera, and that battery still works and still holds a charge! On the other hand, I've wasted my money on Wasabi batteries, and have had a 100% failure rate with those batteries after less than a year of ownership. Worst batteries I've ever used. Yeah, they work well for the first few weeks you own them, but it's all down-hill after that. Worst thing about them is they don't know hold a charge for very long, you need to use them nearly within 24 hours of charging them for maximum effect. But even so, after a few months of ownership, they don't want to hold much of charge no matter what.I've purchased two spare Olympus BLN-1 batteries from Amazon so far, and they work just a well as the one that came with my most recent Olympus camera purchase. During a recent photo shoot, expecting to get no more than 600 shots before the battery died, I just kept on shooting when it got to that mark, just to see how long it would last. I gave up trying to kill the battery after reaching 900 shots, as I was running out of photos to take! That's near DSLR like performance from a tiny mirrorless camera. (Though a small trick for that type of long battery life is to shut off the rear LCD panel and use the EVF only.)So yes, these batteries cost more, a LOT more, than those cheap knock-off's you can find elsewhere. But in the end, I've never had an Olympus battery fail me or go bad in fifteen years, not once. When you are on a trip, vacation or photo shoot and can only rely on the batteries that are in your bag, you'll be very glad you bought these instead of the sushi sauce batteries. Take my word for it.

Much as I'd like to save money
Much as I'd like to save money, I have to say you need to go OEM on this line of batteries. The aftermarket batteries did NOT hold a charge. The Oly bln-1 batteries perform extraordinarily well. I wish they were a bit larger as the EM1 is a battery hog, but the small package is part of the allure of this camera. expensive but worth it. FYI-I shot about 1000 images off one charge-some bracketed on low speed sequential, some with flash. So it works.

Good but received ones 3 years old. All works as it should though.
These appear to be genuine 7.6 volt (3.8 volts per cell) batteries (probably lithium polymer). They charged to the correct voltage on a genuine Olympus charger and, when placed on a capacity tester, they test within a couple of percent +/- the capacity Olympus states (at a 500 ma discharge rate). I was concerned when I saw the manufacturing date on them, but they appear to be fine. Beware using them with aftermarket chargers as most of them only charge to a terminal voltage of 8.3 to 8.4 volts so they will not fully charge on those chargers. Slightly downrated the transaction because of the age of the cells, but it looks like a non-issue. We'll see over repeated use.

Better than secondary market
I have a couple of different secondary market batteries and while they're ok they don't match the oem's.

The battery manufacture date is 8/23/2019.
As a warning to all buyers. I was hoping that it wouldn’t show a manufacturing date of 2019 but I felt it would. I ordered this on 11/9/2024 and I just received it on 11/21/24. So don’t expect it to have a manufacturing date past 2019 since 2019 was the last year that Olympus made the battery. I have not tested the battery to see if it works well.

I almost bought aftermarket until I saw how long my OEM battery lasted
I am here buying another backup battery for my EM-5 mk2, one of my batteries now last no longer than perhaps 30 minutes or so from a full charge on the original OEM charger. All of my batteries are OEM batteries, and I had thought strongly about buying an aftermarket set of two for a quick $20 HOWEVER...when I searched for the batteries on Amazon I decided to click on the original one anyway to see if there was any warehouse deal to be had and that's when it slapped me in the face...........it shows the last time I bought a battery at the top of the page, and that was 4 years ago. I read through a bunch of reviews of the aftermarket batteries, and they're all over the place with some saying it's fine and many many saying it lasts 30 days to 16 months. My OEM batteries have been going since the day the camera came out (bought it brand new directly from Olympus), and only one of them has now degraded. 4 years...4 years is enough for me to cough up the extra and just buy another OEM unit to replace the bum one.EDIT: Just a quick update, the battery I was replacing in the camera is dated 7/9/2015 and lasted until about 10/15/2019 before it started having a significantly reduced life. That's a pretty great result if you ask me, and means it cost me about $4.50 per year...that's very very cheap. The other original battery in the camera (I use the OEM battery grip) is from 4/2019 and still going strong. I hope this helps someone. :)

OEM batteries are best
We purchased 4 cheep batteries a few years ago only to have them warp and jam in the camera on safari. Had to restrict usage to just the one battery that came with the camera. Now we have OEM batteries and feel secure that they will not fail when we need them most.

Great factory replacement that works as it should
I've heard some of the 3rd party batteries don't charge or report data correctly with the Olympus OM-D EM-1 and the factory charger so I decided to spend a bit more and stay w/factory batteries. This has been working great! I typically charge one and swap out on a regular basis to keep the load/life the same across both batteries. No issues at all!
