This syrup is really good, especially if you like dates. That is the only ingredient. We like this over pancakes, yogurt, hot cereal, cornbread, tea, etc. It is sweet but not too sweet & has a complex flavor – so much more interesting than sugar. I like the squeeze bottle that you can store upside down. LIVA makes really good date sugar too.

This is excellent quality date syrup. I've been able to try a few brands to review now, and think all of them are equally good (this one included!).I've not yet been able to think of date syrup as a sweetener replacement. To me, it imparts too much of its own flavor. I do like dates, so that doesn't bother me, but it's not like sugar which I feel just enhances sweetness more than adding its own taste. So, instead of using it as a sweetener, I prefer it on things that I want to add the flavor of dates to. As an example, I like this as a syrup on mango sorbet. I also admittedly like it on its own! Yum!

This has an excellent date flavor. I've been using date syrup for some time, and prefer it to maple syrup in terms of taste. It's also outstanding when baking -- it adds sweetness, so you can cut back on the cane sugar, and also adds a major taste bump (provided you like dates, of course. Then again, who doesn't!)The ingredient list is nice and simple: organic dates. The country of manufacture is not identified. It says it is imported by a Canadian company, but the country of origin is not listed. It comes in a nicely designed container with a flip-top lid and an inner safety seal. It allows for controlled dispensing with minimal dribbles or mess.My only issue is the consistency. This is a bit thinner than other date syrups I've used. While the thinner consistency can be a plus when this is used for baking (easier to incorporate) it's not ideal when used as a pancake/waffle topping. It's not terribly thin, but I did notice the thinner consistency to the point where I dropped my rating to 4 stars. Even so, it's a delicious alternative to maple syrup and a great option when baking.

The label says "Made with 100% Dates & Love"! It looks a lot like maple syrup, but definitely doesn't taste like it. This does taste like dates. It will be a nice alternative and should work well in baking.

This LIVA, Pure Date Syrup, tastes really yummy with a good flavor that is mild. Sometimes date syrups can have a slightly off aftertaste, but this one doesn't at all. It tastes fresh, has a great, thick consistency, and it's really sweet and tasty. I love that it's organic, too! Great quality - it gets two thumbs up from me!

It should not be compared with maple syrup taste, but can consider as a different replacement syrup that taste also different. I like to use mine as toppings for ice cream sometimes. It is thinner than a typical date syrup, I wonder how a thinner consistency is achieved without adding water (?) because ingredients show only organic dates but no water. Taste is good and expiration is over one year in to Nov 2022, good quality syrup.

Having grown up enjoying Date Shakes for a treat, this really has brought back those memories. It's great for sweetening a smoothie! It has a very nice and thick consistency, and is very sweet - tastes like liquid dates.
