2021 Rav4 XLE Worked Great
This kit resolved the issue of brake lights not lighting up the whole assembly during daytime with the headlights off. Before only a dot on each side at the outer edge would light up. Now it's much more visible to drivers behind & will hopefully prevent getting rear ended. Not sure why Toyota would do such a minimalist look to brake lights of all things but this will fix that. The installation was pretty easy. Just remove the plastic panels & install the harnesses. Just need basic tools & some zipties. There is a helpful video by Forged Garage on YouTube that shows what it does & how to install. A must have for Rav4 owners & solve a big pet peeve of mine!!!

Works great, but installation slightly confusing
Great product, and once I got it installed, it works flawlessly. However, the instructions have you tapping into the wiring harness at the top of the hatch (where it attached to the car, where the wires come into the hatch from), and I almost sent the product back thinking it was for the wrong car, but then I realized I could tap into the wiring system on the left rear light, on the hatch... and once I did that and wired it up, it works perfectly! It really wasn't hard to figure out but it did throw me for a bit of a loop, as I was working nights at that time and little things like problem solving were a challenge! (lol!)Side Note: Personal advice from myself having been an electrician for over a decade is to manage your wires like a pro! I like to tape mine to an existing installed OEM wire bundle so that the new wiring does not rattle against interior paneling, NOR against the body of the car underneath the panels. I use electrical tape, just enough so it wraps around onto itself one full wrap is all you need, you do not need to wrap it 3-4 times. I do this every foot or so until the slop in the wires is taken up... I had done several other wiring mods in this part of the car and after installing them all, I could hear the wires tapping the panels of the car and it drove me INSANE, but that's me, I notice every little detail like that because I am now a pilot and it is literally my job to scrutinize every little sound!Best of luck friends, this is a great little addition to the lighting in/on your car!

Buen producto

A SAFETY MUST FOR RAV 4!
This is what Toyota should have done at the factory, Highly recommend and EZ to install.NOTE: 2021 Prime needs non hybrid version.

Won’t work!
It won’t work on my 2021 rav4 xle hybrid. The inner lights won’t light up when the brake is pressed.

This harness does work but be aware of a side effect
I recently ordered and received this harness, however, I was skeptical about what this harness actually did. I broke out my DVM and started taking some measurements. Basically, each harness uses a couple of diodes to prevent voltage from going where it shouldn’t go. This is all fine but I was a bit worried when I broke out the wiring diagrams for my 2019 RAV4 Limited and found that the brake signal also goes to the anti-skid computer. That kind of scared me but I pushed on and tried out the harness on the vehicle anyway.I figured I had a good understanding as to what is being modified but I didn't want to go too far if I want to retreat at any time. I figured the hatch would be the easiest to start with since it had access holes for the taillight connections and I had already have experience removing the trim around the third brake light so I proceeded.I didn't have a second person to press the brake pedal so I set up a tripod and my iPhone to record how the brake and running lights functioned originally. I then proceeded to add the new harness to the hatch only. As I thought, pretty simple. Recording again with the new set up. In reviewing the video, I noticed that there was something noticeably different with the running lights. Yes, the running light now acted as both running and brake lights. However, the video revealed that the running lights did get brighter when the brake pedal was pushed but no brighter than just the original running lights. I then noticed that the running lights seemed to be rather dim when the brake pedal wasn’t being pressed.I decided to experiment to see if my hunch was correct. I removed the new harness connection from the passenger side since it was the end run of the new harness. I left the driver’s side attached to the new harness. Sure enough, as you can see in the attached pictures, the new harness greatly dims the running lights. Remember, the pictures are with no modification of the outer lights. So bottom line, yes this harness does make the running lights brake lights but to the disadvantage of dimming them, IMHO, way too dim.
