Q: How does it work on cigarette smoke as far as the dangerous chemicals does it filer them

Yes. We have the shark 6 which is bigger, but both have hepa filtration. We bought ours because of our smokers, and even a large exhaled cloud gets filtered in seconds into clean air.

It's light Grey. I have one. It looks very nice

Q: Does this unit help with humidity? Does it also work as a dehumidifier?

It doesn't have a dehumidifying function. It does however keep the room markedly cooler, due to the 6 fans on each side. I think it helps but I have no scientific evidence that it does. Sorry i couldn't help yo u out more.
