Q: Can you emboss with a heat gun on this acetate?

Heat embossing on our acetate sheet is as easy as on cardstock,Only a few tips need to be observed. You do not have to prep acetate sheet with the Embossing Buddy when heat embossing on acetate. Our 6mil acetate sheet is very staticy which means the embossing powder will want to stick everywhere, Beat it with your finger, it's an easy way to remvoe the excess. Keep the heat gun moving, if you get too close or if you overheat an area, it will start to deform. I made a DIY demo to verify this, see the video below. Points to know： PET stencil material can withstand a maximum temperature of 150℃ (302°F) , and the melting temperature of embossing powder is about 100℃ (212°F)

Q: Are these food grade?

Our PET plastic sheets are food grade. Scope of application: contact with any food, not in contact with food containing alcohol, and the use temperature is less than 120℉ (49℃)

Q: Would this be a good foundation for a cake topper?

Maybe for a small topper. They have some flex and are a bit thin. Thinner than a credit card but thicker than a piece of paper. Not sure if the stability would hold up very well for a larger cake topper.
