This is a nice rack for people who need a shallow closet rack. It is a little too shallow for my needs, but I mounted it on 1” blocks to create more depth and I purchased 90° IEC power cords. That kept me from buying a rack that was too big for my needs. Hopefully...just right. This rack mounts 16” on center, so it is right on the studs in standard walls. The first one I purchased had a faulty right front rail. It was manufactured with a slight flaw which prevented assembly. I was easily able to return the faulty rack and purchase a new one. The new rack was flawless and assembled easily.2023 UpdateI’ve purchased at least three more of these in the 8U version since my first post. I often mount them on 1” (5/4”) thick blocks to get 1” more room for the typical equipment I use and I really like the 90° IEC power cords for minimizing depth requirements. The photo is of a rack that is part way through an evolution. The 8 port switch will be retired soon and some patch panel items will be relocated. That’s why I now only use blank patch panels and keystone inserts. They make reconfiguration of a rack much easier.

Everything lined up perfectly with quality parts and durable construction. Well worth the cost.

This is absolutely perfect for my needs. I prefer this one over other small rack designs that angle your components down towards the back. If I could attach a picture to this review I'd show you my setup. I have a power strip, UPS, network switch, and desktop size NAS all in this. I even had enough room to put a cool Nixie clock on a shelf in it. Another great thing about this design is that you can put something on top of it too. In my case I have my printer sitting on top of the whole thing. I also saved some space by placing my NAS, because it's not the rackmount version, on the bottom, which actually sits well below where the lowest 1U would be. I don't have this attached to a wall, but on top of my desk which I prefer so I can slide it forward for easier access to everything in back. I imagine having it wall mounted would make things a bit more difficult.The included hardware was appreciated and was exactly the right amount I needed for the four components I have installed. Assembly was easy and all parts were finished well, with no rough edges. Very nice product.

good sturdy build. I wish the wall-mount bolt hoels were centered for 16" studs on a wall, but other than that, it seems fine.some things to update / upgrade / enhance:1. make the top plate solid or vented with a cable passthru hole, as that would serve as a shelf for things like wireless APs that are better served OUTSIDE the metal enclosure.2. center the mounting holes for 16" centers.3. the vent slots on the upper and lower faces could be used for cable management. make a plastic snap-in C or G shaped clip so users can place them along the vent holes to hold cables for patch panels and switches. Then you don't have to burn a U for horizontal wire management.4. Add some vertical wire management to the sides of the vertical rails, or on the back side of the horizontal legs. That would help with a clean install and eliminate the need for zip ties.

This was installed 8 feet in a utility closet ant my work. Original setup when first moved in was not done right and had to remove and rack the patch panel. This was a lot cleaner and easier to patch connections once installed in the new rack. You can see the after and before of the rack install photos above. (Uploaded photos backwards)

This rack is well constructed, but too shallow for my needs. I ordered a 2U shelf that was shown as a related item on the product page and it didn't fit (about 2-3" deeper). The power plug on my Netgear switch needed to be installed before installing the switch into the rack. The TripLite UPS I installed doesn't have enough room to plug components in to the back. So... back to finding a deeper standard-sized rack.UPDATE: I see that the description has now been updated to include the 12" depth. Note that the product dimensions in the detail are incorrectly listed as 21.3 x 26.5 x 4.2 inches. This is all I had to go on when I initially ordered this--12" depth is much different than the 26.5" depth listed.

This has served me well for 5 years. Now I have to move on to a 27U rack. I had the unit mounted on the wall with reasonably large screws drilled into the studs. The rack was completed full and had quite a bit of weight in equipment on it, including a CyperPower power bar, Ubiquiti UDM Pro Max router, Ubiquiti Pro Max 48 switch, Ubiquiti Flex 10GbE switch, 2 24 port patch panels, 24 port TP-link POE+ switch. The AT&T fiber router (pre google fiber), and a few misc items on the optional shelf that can be purchased.

I ended up building a free standing cabinet b/c that's what my space allowed. I wanted the rack part of the cabinet up higher, so I bought this wall mount so I could build something custom around it. Worked out great and came with all the parts needed except for wall mount screws.
