Fun way to get kids learning
This is fab! I had seen these a while back and wasn't sure if it would be helpful or not. I got this together with the "word a day" spiral ones. Omg! My boys love them. They have gone through the colourful book in day one talking about the funny pictures and discussing the words. This particular book might be suitable for a Y1 -Y2 kid but really might be just what is needed to get kiddos reading and writing if they are a bit reluctant. They use it consistently for homework as the extra effort put in with language when it comes to English writing tasks get them extra rewards at school.

Useful, but a little overwhelming...
I am a primary school teacher, so I have ordered books for my child and for my class.Pros: Good for promoting 'ambitious vocabulary' from a young age.Cons: There is no contents page, so its so hard to try and focus on specific vocabulary, like engaging adjectives to describe food. I felt I had to flick pages from a huge book to spot something I wanted to use that day.Tips: Place sticky notes to create sections.

An Epic Book for Epic Words
The media could not be loaded. I love this book. It offers so many opportunities to not only improve vocabulary but wider reading skills of inference and analysis. It’s bright, bold and beautiful and immediately engages with the reader. My little boy adores this book and has looked at it daily since we received it last week. For children who are struggling to read the imagery that accompanies the words are exciting and vibrant. The Qr codes at the back also help to encourage even the reluctant readers who are often too keen to turn away from a book for a device. The interactivity is brilliant for children.A truly epic book

Depressing words
Very few optimistic or “happy” words. Most words are along the lines of “melancholy”, “turbulent”, “ominous”, “crude”, “feud”.

EPIC - Absolutely Fantastic Book to have!
We received this book in exchange for our honest review.Specified for ages 4-8, this book is packed full of colourful, and extremely creative illustrations alongside the extensive amount of vocabulary to help not only with our littles ones reading, but also their understanding of each new word, as well as having a description alongside each major word so the child can learn exactly what it means rather than just reading the word, for example; “spontaneous - happening without being planned”.I personally think this book is absolutely Amazing, the content, the illustrations, the thought that went into each and every word and the way in which these words are presented. It’s also a great learning tool regarding spelling - which for my daughter is something she struggles with, so seeing the words presented in such an interesting and amusing way I think will be beneficial in the long term - she wants to read this book, and I am sure without a doubt it will help every aspect - reading, spelling and increasing her vocabulary whilst being able to understand the bigger words she is saying. This book definitely captures the attention of the reader (even for myself - the adult, I’m definitely going through every page - just to look at the illustrations, so it will definitely capture children’s eyes and with it the words!).I would most definitely recommend this book, you won’t be disappointed!Thank you!

Bright, visual exploration of new vocabulary
I was lucky enough to receive this book for me and I was really excited because I'd been looking at some of the other Mrs Wordsmith resources like the flashcards with interest, as both a parent of a 5 year old and a Primary School Teacher. I have been throughly impressed with this book, it's varied and colourful layout, and it's simple defintions to a wide range of words which are sure to broaden a child's vocabulary and get them thinking about language in different ways. The words are grouped in a such as way as to help children to understand how they link and begin to develop their concepts of synonyms. My 5 year old loved choosing her favourite adjectives from some of the pages, for example, the one compring words for how high something is (she choose "towering"). It would also be a wonderful resource to support children who are new to English as it explore vocabulary around dates, times, colours, etc but in a completely unique way. Can't wait to spend some more time exploring it; it is definitely going to become a well used part of our collection.

✨EPIC FUN🌟 ✨
The media could not be loaded. My daughter is 6 years old, and we wanted to help her with her words so we got the Epic words vocabulary book. The book is colourful (eye catching) and entertaining, my daughter especially found the pictures comical. It gives a range of vocabulary varying from hard to easy words. The book is split up into sections of topics you and your child would like to cover from numbers, shapes and sizes to everyday life.
