I bought this adapter for a Dell Inspiron 3000 laptop. This adapter cable works well. I know that the Dell laptop connector has been getting finicky. Dell reduced the size of the plug-in which makes it more fragile. For a time a few wiggles of the new adapter would get the computer to recognize the proper Dell charger. [The Dell charge cable includes 3 conductors. A (19.5 v +), a (19.5 v -), and some sort of recognition wire. It appears that the recognition wire connection is the weak link in the design.] For 3 years the adapter cable worked to recognize the Dell specific charger with minimal wiggling. After 3 years it got more finicky. I bought a second new adapter cable which improved the situation. The 1st adapter cable may have loosened a bit over the 3 years of use which made it more finicky. To be clear. The real problem is in the Dell computer power plug female receptacle and recognition circuit (poor design). This 7.4 mm to 4.5 mm dongle adapter cable works as advertised.

This cable is long enough to avoid a tight radius when plugged into the laptop and then the power supply. It fit into my spare OEM Dell power supply from my older laptop (2 years) that is used solely for work. I like that the cable made buying an entire power supply unnecessary.

Worked well, cheap, thank goodness. It hasn't worked 100% of the time, sometimes I still need to wiggle it or take it out and put it back in for it to do what I want. But for the price, you can replace it about 6-7 times before it's cost you what replacing the charging cord would.

Works exactly as it's supposed to. I see a lot of people saying they have issues, or it's fake, but this is genuine, and works 100%.I'm a little worried about it lasting, but not because the cable is bad quality, just that stupid port Dell decided to use breaks SUPER easily.

Able to free up usb-c port and use other smaller port for power using a bigger pin power supply

Used with 130 watt Dell power supply with larger connector; no issues using on the Inspiron that has a smaller power connection. My laptop came with the Dell USB-C charger that works fine, but I wanted to be able to use the USB-C port while keeping power connected.

These items work fine but they break, I use mine every day and it lasted a year. But the price is right and I now keep a couple of spares.
