Vitax Ltd1L Slug Gone Natural Wool Barrier Pellets

Seems to work but expensive
Put this round my dahlias after shoots came up and it lasted long enough to get them established without slugs decimating the young shoots. However it does work out expensive and doesn't last long. I am now saving bramble and rose stems for next year - used them around the strawberries and not one slug!

Seems to work
Rather to my surprise, it does seem to work. Scattered round veg seedlings being grown in tubs and watered well. The following morning, found a large snail asleep under tub rim, and a slime trail all the way round rim of tub - but snail had not ventured off the rim onto the scattered area and my courgette was completely untouched! A much better solution than poison or traps as I have wildlife in my garden and I don’t like killing things.

Works well
Normally my lambs ears are destroyed by slugs-not now! These wool pellets REALLY work. Super easy to use, just lay at the base of your plant.I’ve tried lots of different methods-coffee, egg shells, copper tape, beer, salt, thorns, slug pellets but these are without a shadow of a doubt the best yet.Although not cheap I Would recommend.

Too expensive for the amount you need to use!
Liked the fact they don’t harm hedgehogs etc but it’s not an economically viable form of slug damage prevention as you get 500g and have to use loads as a barrier. Considering wool is being thrown away the production and packaging costs must be huge to make these so expensive? Either that or we the buyer are desperate and gullible.

I’m not sure it even works
So I’m not sure how long it takes for this product to become ‘active’ but as I was laying out the watered pellets I found this pest and made a circle around the slug. It happily slimed its way over the pellets. To say I was extremely disappointed was an understatement!! Does anyone know if these actually work or I want my money back
