Powerline Ab bench
I purchased the Powerline Ab bench about a month ago and love it!. It gives me a great Ab workout. I hated doing crunches on the floor with weights held to my chest. I dreaded that part of my workout, but did it anyway. Since getting the Ab bench, I actually look forward to doing my ab workout. Gives me a great pump. Reasonably priced as well and easy to put together. I highly recommend it for it's simplicity as well as the quality workout. Learned by reading other reviewers it can also be used to work the triceps. Didn't know that so will give it a try. As for the abdominal workout, I give it 5 stars. I love it..

AWESOME machine!
I'm 110 lbs and 5'2" so a previous woman's review was very helpful. The machine itself is great but I couldn't get comfortable...had to adjust the seat back and forth, then wound up wrapping a towel around the seat and shoving a pillow between my butt and the backrest. It's an awkward set up and you don't have a lot of "meat" on your bones it can be quite uncomfortable. With that being said, after I found the proper seat adjustment and added the padding, THEN did as a previous reviewer said and I put a broom stick (wrapped in a towel for arm comfort) through the handles and basically turned it into one of those crunch machines at the gym, it worked perfectly! I basically lay my arms over bar abd push down with my abs, either doing short crunches or leaning all the way back, then forward again. It looks pretty strange but it definitely does the trick. I'm sure if someone other than me was going to see it I'd rig it a little better than what it is! But as a whole it's a great machine, it doesn't hurt my back at ALL and I'm finally doing ab exercises......I'm glad I purchased this!

Terrible!
Installation was easy but the single screw holding the wheel to roll the weight up and down is too big. The lumbar padding is too thick that it causes back pain. The little end piece to hold your weights is TOO short.Luckily I had a bench from an old home gym I had lying around which I rigged to attach. I also found a screw that fitted the wheel so the machine is now usable. If it weren't for those modifications, I would return it in an instance.Do not buy it unless you're willing to fix it to make it usable!

It took a while to get, but overall I am happy
I was getting a bit frustrated with the seller of this ab bench, because it took weeks to get and there wasnt much communication as to why it was delayed. That said, overall I am very happy with this bench despite the delay in getting it. It is solid and strong ---300 plus pound powerlifters will be using this bench loaded as heavy as it can handle and it seems it is built to handle that kind of weight.Assembly was easy, taking about 10 minutes. The range of motion and bench position is adjustable, which helps considering the large people at my place using it. That said, a person who is really tall, ie over 6'3 or so may struggle with it due to the bench design. it is really made for a person from 5'3 to about 6' tall.We havent loaded it to capacity yet, but its built well enough to make me think it'll take whatever we throw at it.over all I am very happy.

OK
The bench does work your abs nice. But, they need to do something about the seat, the position is really uncomfortable in your groin area, for this reason I give it a 3. I will not buy another one once I get rid of it.

Perfecting ab bench
This is the perfect little secret weapon for your workouts. You can do abs, triceps and biceps.Use a pair of dumbbells for overhead presses.Love this bench just remember the secret is tension on the muscles you are working on.

It works...
The reason I bought this was to make it easier to do ab exercises with weight at home. It works very well for this purpose. The main thing is to make sure to set the backrest to the proper height so your back bends back slightly and it stretches the abs and gives a longer range of motion. There are a few downsides I have found..First this is not really a sturdy feeling bench, its very light and it almost feels like it could fall over while your exercising. Second, the triceps exercise gives me mixed feelings. Getting a full range of motion, especially the "stretch", is impossible for me. Then during the exercise the cable seems to rub on the back of my head which is more annoying than anything. Despite the ROM issue I was sort of surprised that I felt more soreness in the tris than I feel from other tri exercises, probably due to the newness of the motion. Like other Body Solid equipment I have bought the directions aren't step-by-step its the exploded view diagram. There isnt a lot to putting this together but I wish Body Solid would spend a few cents to put real directions in all their products.Overall I'm happy with the bench as it allows me to go with weight-lower reps on abs with a better range of motion than other ab exercises. If you want to add weight to your ab workouts this will make life easier if you want to do high reps or something I'm not sure it would be worth the money, you might be better off using an exercise ball or something and save your $ and space in your gym.
