Replaced my 1225v5 cpu to double the number of threads from 4 to 8 in proxmox server...works like a champ.

Needs a C series chipset or significant BIOS mods to work!
If you have a C236 based board this is a great CPU.Intel blocked the use of xeons on desktop chipsets from this generation onwards!Cannot be used with a regular desktop motherboard (H110, B150, Z170 etc.) without extensive BIOS mods to get around Intel Management Engine CPU locks.Pair this with a Dell T3620 motherboard for a nice workstation class setup. Will need PSU + front panel adapters to work in an ATX case though.

My processor arrived well protected and I had no problems with installation. I would buy from them again.

Misleading image of the box. It does not come with anything.
Does NOT come with heatsing or cooling fan! The image of the box is very misleading. The chip arrived in an envelope in my mailbox. No thermal paste, no documentation. I have not tried using it yet, but am not very encouraged by the packaging.

Meh... people just want to make money and that's that... :-(
Sellers needs to list or indicate what is included in their package. This processor was just wrapped up in some plastic. No heat sink or cpu fan included. I already knew that this was a used product but if I knew this was only just a processor I would have purchased something easy. Not happy about this purchase.
