Works really well, but watch your electric bill!
I am really impressed at how well this product removes water. I live in an old flat with single glazed sash windows which streamed with condensation every winter. I also started to see mould on some walls, along with a faint stale smell :-(After trying a compressor type hudidifier which was noisy, and didn't work if the temperature fell much below 20 deg C, I thought I'd try this model. After plugging in it just kept pulling litre upon litre from the air, after a day or so I started to see a big difference. Now condensation only appears on the windows on the coldest frosty mornings, and the mould on walls and the musty smell is gone! I find the turbo mode very useful for drying clothes indoors in winter too, within 5 or 6 hours the clothes are pretty much dry.One word of warning though, these do use a fair bit of power. Try to be a bit careful... I worked out if this thing is working non stop for 24 hours it will cost you about £1.40 or £2.50 a day depending whether its on the quiet or turbo setting (assuming 15p per kwh). While this might not sound much it does add up! Having said this if you try to keep the humidity around 50 or 60% it only switches on for a few hours a day & will cost you a lot less than this. Try to remember to keep the humidistat set to Lo as much as possible. Set to Hi (40-50 % humidity) only when you need too, eg drying laundry or if it's really cold outside causing damp or condensation. This way you will not be increasing your utility company's vast profits too much:-)

EcoAir ECO DD122FW Simple Dehumidifier
My house is over 230 years old with 2ft thick walls and no cavity for insulation. The main windows are small and therefore do not let much sunlight into the rooms and to maintain the temperature inside the home (having paid fuel costs to achieve this) we are reluctant to open windows! Therefore condensation dampness and mildew can be a problem in cool areas such as wardrobe or storage areas in bedrooms which are crammed to capacity and have little or no air circulation. I bought the Ecoair specifically for my own room which is used throughout the day and night by myself and two big dogs and replaces an older cumbersome dehumidifier which has always been temperamental and finally gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago just as the damp time of year begins. The room is roughly 5m x 3m. The wardrobe wall is on the north side and although this wall has been treated internally and externally, damp issues remain when doors close this area off.I received the Ecoair from Amazon on Monday, earlier than expected, and immediately unpackaged and switched it on. Having read reviews which said the machine could be noisy I was pleasantly surprised. I had the setting switched to the highest before Turbo and although I could hear it working - that was about it. On Turbo, yes its louder but I could get used to it and on this high (turbo) setting it sounds similar to an older style fridge or the constant hum of an air conditioning unit. That first day I let the machine run for 4 hours. 2nd day it was on for 2 hours. In that time it efficiently drank over half a bucket of water! (which I used to monitor the amount of water being sucked away) Furthermore I normally heat that room using a mobile oil radiator (and because the room is on the outer west wall - coldest in the house - it requires heat on even reasonable days which is quite expensive) but since the first use of the Ecoair, I have not had to use the heater at all. For me therefore, running costs will not be an issue and, in fact, they will probably improve overall. It is day 4 and right now it is chilly enough for me to put on the oil radiator but the dehumidifier will be switched on instead for a couple of hours. In theory, the drier the air, the warmer the room and the less overall heat/power will be required to maintain good temperature. Certainly that has been so this week.I also like the clothes drying aspect and the vent lid which can be adjusted into an upward direction. As I have to use a tumble dryer for most of my laundry with the vent going out of a window, hopefully I can cut down on dryer use and also keep the window firmly shut and the heat indoors. The unit is extremely lightweight. My old unit had wheels but was heavy and awkward to push and I certainly couldn't lift it. This unit has no wheels and they are unnecessary - though disabled I find it easy peasy to lift and move. It is a neat little bit of equipment that takes up little space and is unobtrusive. It is easy to empty and the water container has a carry handle to make it even easier to walk away with it for pouring wherever. And it does not have to be on constantly as some reviews suggest. To begin with it may be desirable to have it running up to 24 hours a day depending on the situation, but once under control the dampness can be kept at bay by using an hour a day or a couple of hours a week etc (and I know this from using my old machine) but again this is dependent on the type of problem it is coping with. For me it is mainly to do with condensation build up due to extreme outside weather, outer walls being in the shade of dense trees and lack of air circulation and ventilation due to not opening windows. Finally I mentioned having dogs. Normally, even to my accustomed sense of smell, there prevails a slight doggy odour in the room. Since switching on the unit that odour has not been noticeable and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the filter is doing what is says it is capable of! I suppose also that as a certain amount of water has already been sucked from the air, the odour has been trapped within the molecules and removed but however it is doing it I hope it keeps up the good work!Providing the unit is built to last I am more than pleased I chose this model to dehumidify my home and am already considering buying a second unit to keep on the upstairs landing to regulate and control sleep induced condensation in the bedrooms.

Impressed
Had this a couple of months now so feel ready to review it. I bought it for 3 main reasons.1. Drying washing indoors. It definitely speeds up drying time when wet clothes are on an airer. I leave it running for a few hours. Cheaper than central heating as it also generates some heat so helps to warm the room. Plus it collects about a litre of water per wash load which I assume would otherwise be in the air.2. Showers. I don't have a bathroom fan so always had to open a window to shower. Now I use this on laundry mode and not only does it keep the bathroom almost steam free but helps to warm the room. So only need to open window for a few minutes when I have finished just to let fresh air in.3. Cooking. Having an open plan house cooking smells could be an issue even with extractor, so open window and air freshener needed. Now I put this on and it makes a difference. No steamed windows when I release the valve on the pressure cooker and definitely less of the cooking smells. Can't comment on running cost as I haven't measured it. All I can say is it is cheaper than heating and it doesn't show high cost on my smart meter. Very light so can carry it to wherever it is needed.Overall very happy with this purchase.

Is good, worth purchasing.
Purchased 23rd Nov 2022 for £149.94.This dehumidifier is actually really good. Topped with the convenient handle and easy way to take out the water tank to empty separately, it fulfils its function. The only downside is, it's nozzle for humidity sensing isn't all that accurate. It's hard to get the machine to keep the room at a certain humidity without the room humidity falling/rising 10% in either direction before the machine turns off / on automatically. This said, it is an extremely efficient piece of kit and does exactly what is expected of it. I have no qualms with the result - and that is really all that matters. If you want an automatic "Set and forget" machine, however, I would suggest investing in something different.4/5 stars for a great quality machine that saw me through the overly humid winter!

Works very well
Was a bit dubious about how much it would really collect. I was pleasantly surprised and it makes the room feel much more comfortable whilst stopping mould from forming. Excellent.
